Better way to do it is: sudo gconf-editor Then go to: apps/gnome-session/options/ There is a bool-key called logout_prompt. It is very easy: You can make the Door-Icon an logout-Icon. So there is no menu. It just logs out, without confirmation. Install gTweakUI - Session with the Packet-Manager. Then open gTweakUI and deactivate the cross at "Show Logout-Menu" or similar.
