[Bug 604788] Re: 100% CPU usage gvfsd-metadata
I came back with more detail! Test Condition Maverick 10.10 x86_64 2.6.35-23 gvfs 1.6.4-0ubuntu1.1 / filesystem xfs /home filesystem xfs Steps to reproduce the bug : [Copy] open folder in Nautilus : /home/al/test1 select 5000 files Right click and copy open folder in Nautilus : /home/al/test2 right click and paste wait until finish copy after copying files, gvfs-metadata continuous CPU usage to 100% during a very long time !! the backtrace (as an attachment) gdb-gvfsd-metadata[copy].txt or Steps to reproduce the bug : [Delete] delete folder in Nautilus (containing 5000 files) : /home/al/test2 after deleting files, gvfs-metadata continuous CPU usage to 100% during a long time !! the backtrace (as an attachment) gdb-gvfsd-metadata[delete].txt I think the bug comes from updating the folder if I kill the process or end gvfsd-metadata , it comes back! The only temporary solution I found is this disconnect from the session. Apparently to the reconnection it does not affect data! during gvfs-metadata uses 100% CPU no other operations can be performed (copy, delete, and even view the contents of a folder)! -- 100% CPU usage gvfsd-metadata https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/604788 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
