[Bug 573415] [NEW] g-s-d uses high disk i/o
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon Sometimes after logging in, g-s-d pegs my disk. When I run iotop, I can see gnome-settings-daemon going as fast as it can for maybe five or ten seconds, then it goes back to normal. [Bug 156903] Re: gnome-about-me: No Image sets a generic face instead of no image
Before changing any About Me settings, the screen saver unlock dialog has no image at all. When I choose No Image, a file called .face (which is an svg image, attached earlier) is created in my home directory, and it is used in the screen saver dialog. I have to delete /home/myuser/.face to really have no image again. So the button labeled No Image actually causes an image to be created. It seems to me that it should delete /home/user/.face if present, not create it. Or that the button should say Default instead. ** Attachment added: gnome-screensaver without face http://launchpadlibrarian.net/11867130/before.png -- gnome-about-me: No Image sets a generic face instead of no image https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/156903 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 156903] Re: gnome-about-me: No Image sets a generic face instead of no image
Hi I'd just like to confirm that this behavior is really desired. After I click No Image, my face is set to that icon. It doesn't just show up in the About Me menu. For instance, when I am unlocking my screen saver, that picture is there. That seems odd to me. ** Attachment added: gnome-screensaver with face http://launchpadlibrarian.net/11849841/after.png -- gnome-about-me: No Image sets a generic face instead of no image https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/156903 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 145123] Re: Keyboard shortcut works even when the screen is locked
I just noticed today that I could zoom in when the screen was locked, and then suddenly realized my Amarok shortcuts were working. Since reading these comments, I realize I can also type a command into a run dialog while the screen is locked. Just zoom in, and shortcuts start working. Right, just with Compiz.
