[Bug 122993] Re: ondemand governor does not use maximum frequency under load

2009-02-17 Thread LuisG
I can confirm this on a laptop AMD Turion X2 RM-70, Intrepid AMD64.

At first I was mesmerized to find Avidemux running 4 times faster in
Vista than in Ubuntu on the same machine. Then I realized it was not
using all its cpu power, so I changed the cpufreq governor to
'Performance' and it worked as expected.

However, I consider this to be a workaround and not a desired behavior:
I don't want to fry my laptop by letting it run all night long at 100%
just because I forgot to change cpufreq back to normal.

$ uname -a
Linux cpu3 2.6.27-11-generic #1 SMP Thu Jan 29 19:28:32 UTC 2009 x86_64

Hi Sebastien, thanks for your answer.

libglib2.0-0-dbg installation went ok, but
libgnomevfs2-0-dbg didn't:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo apt-get install libgnomevfs2-0-dbg
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean
that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using
the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet
been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is
extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report
against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the
situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  libgnomevfs2-0-dbg: Depends: libgnomevfs2-0 (=

[Bug 59774] Nautilus crashes copying a directory from a ssh directory source

2006-09-10 Thread LuisG
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Distribution: Ubuntu 6.06 (dapper)
Package: nautilus
Severity: Normal
Version: GNOME2.14.3 unspecified
Gnome-Distributor: Ubuntu
Synopsis: Nautilus crashes copying a directory from a ssh directory source
Bugzilla-Product: nautilus
Bugzilla-Component: File and Folder Operations
Bugzilla-Version: unspecified
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.14.1)
Description:
Description of the crash:
When copying a directory from a ssh shared directory on Ubuntu 5.10 to folder
on Ubuntu 6.06, Nautilus closes unexpectedly.
It always happens with this specific directory, and in this specific
file. This directory is "exiv2-0.10/src/.libs" from "exiv2-0-10"
sources. Error always arises when copying file libexiv2-0.10.so. Whever, it is
possible to copy this file alone.

Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. Setup ssh server on Ubuntu 5.10
2. Connect from Ubuntu 6.06 through Nautilus, using ssh
3. Copy "exiv2-0-10/src/.libs" directory from "exiv2-0-10" sources to local
machine by drag n' drop in nautilus
4. Nautilus crashes

Expected Results:
Copy any file or directory with no crashing, even if there is a failure in
other module like ssh.

How often does this happen?
Always, under the conditions above.

Additional Information:
I can give a screenshot and a .gz whith .libs folder if you want.
