linux.girl, It's been reported upstream, I'd say badger them about it.
That's what I'm doing!

[Bug 1011031] [NEW] Item Selection Tooltip Masks Last Item in List View

2012-06-09 Thread Ron Adams
Public bug reported:

When you select an item in Nautilus, a Tooltip appears with information
about the file you just selected. The tooltip is persistent, and appears
in the lower right of the window.

In list view mode, this blocks the information of the last item in the
list, which is particularly annoying. See the attached screenshot for
example.

This error persists in 11.10, can someone take a look at it? It makes

[Bug 385935] Re: google contacts: error loading address book

2010-04-07 Thread Ron Adams
Using Ubuntu 10.04 Beta, I can successfully see the contacts, but any
edits (delete, new, change a contact) result in authentication errors.
Note the password is definitely right -- the contacts do show up. Any
ideas here?

I have reported my problem upstream at

different from the previously submitted bug -- this has nothing to do
with stale passwords in the keyring.

[Bug 217135] [NEW] sound-juicer doesn't allow creation of new profiles

2008-04-14 Thread Ron Adams
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sound-juicer

When I try to make a new profile for output format in sound-juicer, it
does not allow me to select it as the preferred format, even if I check
the active box. I reinstalled the gstreamer plugins, which re-created
the original (FLAC, ogg, speex, WAV) profiles, but nothing re-creates
the MP3 profiles. If I make them myself, either through sound-juicer or
using a script like
[url=http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=2009576postcount=2]this
one[/url], they are never recognized in sound-juicer, even though I set
their permissions the same as the others in that folder.

Attached is an example mp3 profile not accessible via the menu (gnome-
audio-profiles-properties), even though it is correct.

[Bug 129029] Re: [Gutsy Tribe-5] No Sound on Login Screen or during Login

2007-09-29 Thread Ron Adams
Confirmed on a fresh install of Gusty Beta, with all updates as of 9/29.

mattz: System -- Preferences -- System Beep (this should have been
disabled by default; that ugly beep is positively *archaic*)

Donnie Pennington: I confirm your statement as well

afonic: I do not confirm your solution; enabling the splash screen did
not fix the problem for me (yes, I followed all your steps).

This should be a high priority, as TJ said, because the Ubuntu
experience is crucial to its success in the desktop market.

All of my applicable log/report files do not differ significantly from
those already posted, but I will post them on request.
