[Bug 40652] Dictionary applet no longer makes suggestions for misspelt words

2006-04-21 Thread brick
Public bug reported:

Affects: gnome-utils (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
The gnome dictionary applet from GNOME versions < 2.12 had a very useful
feature that suggested spellings if you misspelt a word. The new version
in Dapper seems to lack this functionality.

[Bug 30194] Infinite error-dialogue loop if swapspace can't be created

2006-02-19 Thread brick
Public bug report changed:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/30194

Comment:
On the main gimp window, go:

file -> preferences -> folders

There is a text-box for swap folder. This is where gimp stores image
information when there is insufficient main memory.

If that setting points to a non-existing directory, gimp will not use a
swap folder, and runs into problems when it can't use main memory.

When gimp runs out of memory, it pops up a warning. If you tell gimp to
open a large file, it will then pop up this message continously, instead
of only once.

[Bug 30194] Infinite error-dialogue loop if swapspace can't be created

2006-01-31 Thread brick
Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/30194

Affects: gimp (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
In Breezy:

If the gimp swap-dir is set to some invalid location, and a large file
is opened, gimp starts generating warning dialogues at a rate of several
per second. Soon Xorg is overwhelmed, all memory seems to be eaten, and
C-A-backspace is needed.
