[Bug 295009] Re: deleting files in nautilus does not delete the files

[Bug 295009] Re: deleting files in nautilus does not delete the files
could you try if that's still an issue in jaunty? ** Changed in: gvfs (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- deleting files in nautilus does not delete the files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/295009 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 295009] Re: deleting files in nautilus does not delete the files
this should be fixed with the new trash backend which is going to be out soon. ** Changed in: gvfs (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: nautilus = gvfs -- deleting files in nautilus does not delete the files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/295009 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Setting this to new since I've supplied the requested information. ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = New -- deleting files in nautilus does not delete the files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/295009 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 295009] Re: deleting files in nautilus does not delete the files
I've been able to reproduce this on stuff that's just on another filesystem, like USB disks. I have an 80 gb USB drive, I followed the icon in nautilus that appears when the drive is detected and mounted. Deleting files on this drive again put them in invisible .Trash-1000 folders, which I then had to clean up from the command line. -- deleting files in nautilus does not delete the files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/295009 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 295009] Re: deleting files in nautilus does not delete the files
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please answer these questions: * Is this reproducible? * If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug? * The trash location is nautilus is supposed to list those, does gvfs-ls trash: works correctly? This will help us to find and resolve the problem. ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low Assignee: (unassigned) = Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) Status: New = Incomplete -- deleting files in nautilus does not delete the files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/295009 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 295009] Re: deleting files in nautilus does not delete the files
After trying a few more cases it looks like this case happens when I follow a symlink into the other filesystem. In that case gvfs-ls does not show the file. 1. symlink from your home directory into another filesystem 2. use dd if=/dev/zero of=zero bs=1M count=1024 to create a file there 3. follow that symlink in nautilus 4. delete the file in nautilus 5. it's now in a .Trash-1000 folder, but the trash icon is empty and gvfs-ls trash: doesn't show it -- deleting files in nautilus does not delete the files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/295009 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
