[Bug 798627] Re: DBUS error when connecting to sftp share
Thank you for your bug report, is that still an issue? Does gvfs-mount works for mounting this share? ** Package changed: nautilus (Ubuntu) = gvfs (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: gvfs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low ** Changed in: gvfs (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/798627 Title: DBUS error when connecting to sftp share To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/798627/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 798627] Re: DBUS error when connecting to sftp share
** Description changed: Binary package hint: nautilus There are already a plenty of bugs about nautilus dbus errors, but not one exactly like this. Feel free to make this a duplicate if needed. I have a ssh server running on non-standard port 42. I also have keys exchanged so i don't need password to log in. I try to connect to it using nautilus (places | connect to server | ..). After a few minutes a error dialog pops up: Could not display xxx Error: DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken. Please select another viewer and try again. The mount is still displayed in Nautilus sidebar (ftp for user on host) but no files are displayed in it. If i choose another directory and return to the mount, nautilus again displays the same error after a while. Note: This used to work on 10.10. On 11.04 it doesn't. - --- + --- Architecture: i386 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal - Release i386 (20110427.1) NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: nautilus 1:2.32.2.1-0ubuntu13 PackageArchitecture: i386 ProcEnviron: - LANGUAGE=en_US:en - LANG=en_US.UTF-8 - SHELL=/bin/bash + LANGUAGE=en_US:en + LANG=en_US.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-8.42-generic 2.6.38.2 Tags: natty Uname: Linux 2.6.38-8-generic i686 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout lpadmin plugdev sambashare - --- + --- Architecture: i386 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhal - Release i386 (20110427.1) NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: nautilus 1:2.32.2.1-0ubuntu13 PackageArchitecture: i386 ProcEnviron: - LANGUAGE=en_US:en - LANG=en_US.UTF-8 - SHELL=/bin/bash + LANGUAGE=en_US:en + LANG=en_US.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-8.42-generic 2.6.38.2 Tags: natty Uname: Linux 2.6.38-8-generic i686 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout lpadmin plugdev sambashare -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/798627 Title: DBUS error when connecting to sftp share To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/798627/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 798627] Re: DBUS error when connecting to sftp share
I can confirm it happens on Natty, nautilus fails to connect via sftp when both ssh (command line) and gnome-commander connect just fine to the server (Natty too, but also happening with a Lucid one). Sometimes nautilus manage to connect to /, but fails to move to /home/$user. Same dbus error message stated in the original bug report. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/798627 Title: DBUS error when connecting to sftp share To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/798627/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 798627] Re: DBUS error when connecting to sftp share
Yep, I got the same problem all of a sudden. In fact I think this worked fine even on Natty before some updates, so it should be regression- update. Despite this, it would still be good if you could run 'apport- collect 798627' in a terminal to add some more info (such as versions) to this bug. --- Ubuntu Bug Squad volunteer triager http://wiki.ubuntu.com/BugSquad ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/798627 Title: DBUS error when connecting to sftp share To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/798627/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Oh dear, it's stopped happening.
