Hmm, one solution seems to be setting default CTL
language in Language options to None.. (it was Hindi earlier),
& then set it back to Hindi!!..

[l10n-dev] bug with hindi l10n package (on ubuntu + debian stock builds)

2006-11-02 Thread Guntupalli Karunakar
Hi,
I am facing a strange issue.. when using Hindi l10n langpack for
OOo 2.0.4 in Ubuntu (edgy) or Debian (etch).. these are stock builds
that come in the repositorys.
When I try typing Hindi in Writer, it only takes the first char
typed.. and eats up the rest of chars until a whitespace char..., the
first char in a word appears then next chars dont appear, neither
does the cursor move..it happens with Hindi only , rest Indic langs
( Gujarati, Punjabi) i can type properly..
uninstalling the Hindi lang pack, makes it work normally. now I am
going through all the files installed by the lang pack
( openoffice.org-l10n-hi-in package ), to figure out whats wrong but
not having much clue.. maybe there is some error in some XML..but
cant figure out.
Anyone has clue as to which files to look into..?

TIA,
Karunakar

Any screenshots?
I assume Windows 2000 not supporting these languages is not an issue
( if other langs - apart from Devanagari & Tamil are working )

I had written the module to Tibetan/Dzongkha when working on with OO
1.1.3, will rework it with 3.4 .
