[development-axapta] sysmailer class

hi all,
I use sysmailer class to send mail with Exchange 5.5 (without 
authentification), everything works perfectly.

yesterday, my network admin modifies an exchange parameter which 
consists in being authenticated to use exchange, since I do not manage 
more to send the mail from axapta.

I tried to bring a user and a password to the level of the
of screen email parameter, but apparement Axapta is unaware of
these parameters, anyone has this problem before? how Axapta pass 
parameters user and password to Exchange?

The problem was that the temporary table somehow was corrupt. If I
tried to enter data to the two fields through the table browser the
Axapta client crashed.

I solved it by deleting og recreating the table in the AOT.

But it's terribly difficult to identify such a problem when all you
get is a "500 - internal server error".

[development-axapta] Shutting off AOS

Hello Everybody
 
We have AX3.SP4, yesterday the server where we have the AOS was turned off by 
mistake (all the users logged on), we brought it up again and today we had 
problems with the printers (all the users logged on AOS where having problems, 
the ones on AOT didn’t).  I would like to know if this is a normal behavior.  
We discovered later that the AOS had lost its domain against our other server 
(where we have the DB).
 
Can anyone tell me the abc about shutting off the AOS ?

[development-axapta] Webgrid and server error

I have a webform with a datasource with a field of datatype 'string'
and a field of datatype 'real'. Both fields are in the same temporary
table.

When I add the 'real' field to the grid, the webgrid displays correctly.

However, when I also add the 'string' field I get a '500 - server
error' from the IIS.

Axapta 3.0, SP4 (or thereabout).

Do you have any idea what can be the problem? Or where I get more
indications of what the problem is. I've recompiled, restartet the ABC
and the IIS, debugged - but the problem remains.

[development-axapta] Dynamics 4.0 Product Builder

Hello

I can define in Product Builder Rules an Action. And define property of 
variable - show only. For example when i mark checkbox (bool variable) 
then another variable is hide or show only. It's not wor when i start 
builder but only if I check the checkbox and then uncheck. Is there 
possibility to hide some variables and then show them when i mark some 
checkbox ?

Thanks for the answer. But I want to attach a file (doc, xls, pdf, etc) on 
a project. I can attach a file on a table using the Basic Module => Setup => 
Document Management, however, the file must be stored in a physical directory 
on server. 

*   I want to attach that files on a project instead of a table. 
*   If it's possible, I would like to store the files (pdf, doc, xls, etc) 
on any AX file in application file instead of a physical directory on server;

Hi Daniel,
I think your query is not clear. As u know Project consists of your related AOT 
objects and this can be taken as a separate .xpo file using right click 
'Export' option of a Project.

SYMPTOMS
Consider the following Microsoft Business Solutions - Axapta 3.0
scenario:1. You configure intercompany postings between two companies,
"Company A" and "Company B."
2. You create a dimension in Company B that does not exist in Company A.
3. You create an intercompany journal in Company A. You select the new
dimension that you created as the intercompany dimension.
In this scenario, when you post an intercompany transaction from
Company A, you receive a validation error.
CAUSE
This problem occurs if you post an intercompany transaction with a
dimension that is different from the company where the transaction
originates. Axapta always looks up the dimensions that belong to the
company where the journal is created.

This problem occurs because the posting routines and the validation
routines in Axapta 3.0 validate the dimension by checking the source
company instead of by checking the destination company. Therefore, if
the dimension does not exist in the source company, you receive a
validation error when you try to post the transaction.
RESOLUTION
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only
intended to correct the problem that is described in this article.

Hi,

 

Check if there is a firewall blocking the access. Turn off the Windows
firewall on the Server which hosts AX and try accessing the client.

This was one problem that we faced.

computers running on the parent domain. Can access application using 
client installed on the server of the same domain, but doesnt work for 
same client configuration on the clients computer. 

This is Dynamics V4, has anyone come accross this problem, have any 
ideas?

[development-axapta] How can I access data across forms in the below scenario???

Hi friends,

I have a customized smmActivities form with an extra tab added as a part
of my customization.Now from this tab, on a button click I send  a
request to an external tool with the help of an activex. This tool sends
back a response, which is captured on a datagrid on a  different form on
AX . Now I have the new form above my smmActivities form. Form here I
need to send the data in the selected row of the data grid back to the
smmActivities form and populate a few fields there.

I am facing problem in sending the data from the new form to the
smmActivities form. When I use args to send the data across and access
it in init() a new smmActivities form opens and the fields there are
populated. But as per my requirement the existing form(the one below the
new form) has to get populated.

How do I achieve this?

Yes,  V4.0 uses only active directory users which are domain specific. U need 
to create two users into user table. One with each domain, this will resolve 
the issue.
