2018-10-22 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Hello Chala,

Which version of DHIS2 are you using for starters?

Please also verify that you have run analytics for analysis data to show on
pivot tables, gis/maps or visualiser.

If you want the total to be shown on a data entry form, ensure that you
have included the indicators on the datasets.

yes, you will need to set this from the provider's end point. and Yes you
will need to authenticate using an existing dhis2 user account with a role
that adds data and uses sms, DHIS2 supports basic authentication and their
systems will need to cater for then authentication details in the header.

Re: [Dhis2-users] Add period in sms data entry

2018-04-04 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Dear Hakim,

If period is formatted as DDMM e.g. if you are reporting for 12th of March,
you would specify 1203. Depending on the reporting frequency, the system
will map accordingly. E.g. if weekly, you could pick any date within the
week and the month

Then format SMS depending on your separation mechanism (space for below
example):

Keyword Period Data

Re: [Dhis2-users] [Dhis2-devs] URGENT: Data capture and Maintenance org units Access

2018-03-12 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Hi Georgi, The other workable option where U dont have direct access to
database is use the DHIS2 WebAPI

Georgi, Since the account is a superuser, you could use the WebAPI to
create a new Superuser and allocate to the Main parent orgunit using the
payloads below:-

For this to work properly (currently) you need to generate an ID
(/api/system/id) and then modify the payload like this:

{
  "id": "generated-id",
  "firstName": "John",
  "surname": "Doe",
  "email": "john...@mail.com",
  "userCredentials": {
"userInfo": { "id": "generated-id" },
"username": "johndoe",
"password": "your-password-123",
"userRoles": [ {
  "id": "Euq3XfEIEbx"
} ]
  },
  "organisationUnits": [ {
"id": "ImspTQPwCqd"
  } ],
  "userGroups": [ {
"id": "vAvEltyXGbD"
  } ]
}

generated-id should be generated using /api/system/id (WebAPI)

Then, Use Curl to Create the user. Once done, Login and Update your account
as usual using users App

curl -X POST -u user:pass -d @u.json -H "Content-Type:
application/json" http://server/api/24/users

Hi JM,

Looks like the issues has never been resolved right? I have confirmed this
in Version 2.27, 2.28, and I assume it is the same case with lower version.

Is this supposed to be so or it is yet in plan for implementation in a
future version?

[Dhis2-users] Unable to retrieve events via API or import/export apps for programs with Custom Combinations of Categories

2018-02-15 Thread Ocaya Stephen
HI, I Posted a bug in DHIS2 on JIRA HERE
 but seems not response to it.

Kindly review the details below:

The problem happens when a custom category combination is applied to a
program. When done, it is impossible to get data from import/export (Export
Events app) as it return no record. Also, access the events api is
impossible as it also returns no record despite having records

Check the API for one Program with custom CC.
https://play.dhis2.org/2.28/api/events.json?program=kla3mAPgvCH

If however the program uses the default Combination of Category, Everything
seems to work as expected.

Anyone who can help, will be grateful!!

Re: [Dhis2-users] [Dhis2-devs] Discrepancy in weekly vs monthly reporting period

2018-02-11 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Dear Rachel,

Unfortunately , working over the overlap issues may not be an easy one. The
big question is which month do you consider the data for if the week starts
within the previous month or the one that ends in another month,

Probably the month with many days takes up the data BUT remember like
Prosper said, it will be an approximation and not an exact match of data.

A More realistic data would be accurate as you go higher in the period
hierarchy e..g. quarterly, ...

Re: [Dhis2-users] Experienced DHIS2 APP users

2017-11-30 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Hi Kristiyan,

It all depends on what you want to achieve with DHIS2 really. Of course for
complex settings, you might face a few challenges here and there but at the
moment, the app can take care of most issues compared to app in earlier
years. One challenge with our endusers in my country is that there seem to
be no validation done during entry to prevent data from being entered in
case a validation rule fails or wrong values. The understanding is that the
existing validation rules are normally executed when completing a form or
after data entry.

Re: [Dhis2-users] Generic SMS Gateway Functionality

2017-11-16 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Additionally, you now do not need to paste the whole URL template as is.

You will need to break down the parameters of the template. i.e.

http://mycustomsmsgateway.url/send?message={message}&;
phoneNumber={phoneNumber}

Message Parameter = message
Recipient Parameter = phoneNumber

URL Template = http://mycustomsmsgateway.url/send
<http://mycustomsmsgateway.url/send?message=%7Bmessage%7D&phoneNumber=%7BphoneNumber%7D>

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FULL TEMPLATE SHOULD BE PROVIDED BY THE SMS PROVIDER.

The Parameter names might vary.

Re: [Dhis2-users] Generic SMS Gateway Functionality

2017-11-16 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Dear Eric,

There are two things to note. The SMS Gateway that you set in DHIS2 is for
any outbound text messaging. The URL Template should be based on your SMS
service provider's template. This will allow you to forward SMS messages
from DHIS2 to the SMS service provider that will handle the delivery of the
messages.

*URL TEMPLATE IS FROM the SMS Provider*

On the other hands, you should also configure a URL from the SMS service
providers to forward ALL messages probably using a keyword to a DHIS2
instance. The latest version of DHIS2 2.28 has recently changed its SMS
API that will receive and process SMSes as below.

http://DHIS2_DOMAIN_URL/api/sms/inbound?message=[TEXT MESSAGE]&originator=[
PHONE
NUMBER]

If you need an SMS service provider, I can help set up for you BUT you will
be required to pay for the SMSes. [We can discuss more]

Dear Limbe,

All you need to get started is in the Developer Manual for DHIS2. You can
download the PDF Version

Definitely, you will need some programming experience to use curl

Regards and good luck.

Re: [Dhis2-users] [Dhis2-devs] Unable to retrieve Analytics Data using API through the dataValueSet format.

2016-12-18 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Thanks Lars. However documentations for the different versions seem to talk
of it being possible.

May be the manuals for different versions need to be different as well and
not using the latest available manual.

Thanks again

Hi Knut and All,

I have just upgraded from 2.24 to 2.25 and confirms now that the
analytics/dataValueSet works.

May be for those having a similar issue, you might want to do an upgrade.

Re: [Dhis2-users] API 2.25: Return Full Property Set

2016-12-16 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Dear Uwe,

This is a json issue. Recently i had guidance from lars that the xml
returns even the empty properties.

Apparently, suggestions in the link below talks of leaving out properties
with null values.

https://google.github.io/styleguide/jsoncstyleguide.xml

The only work around:

1. Try using xml format ( if ok with U)
2. You will need to take back missing properties within your codes (
probably your previous work around)

Thanks. It works.

I have tried with different orgUnit with data.

But it would be better if we could put an empty dataValues instead of
leaving it completely out. Just my suggestion.

[Dhis2-users] Issues with Reading Data Values via the dataValueSets

2016-12-05 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Dear Dev,

I am not sure if I am doing it wrongly. When I try to access dataValueSets
via the API (DHIS2 2.25), the return values does not have dataValues as
documented.

To reproduce the issue: Try the example below:

https://play.dhis2.org/demo/api/dataValueSets.json?dataSet=pBOMPrpg1QX&period=201401&orgUnit=DiszpKrYNg8

Attached is the output for the above and missing the "dataValues":[]
sections

Kindly advise how best to do that.

Sample Return Values::
{"dataSet":"XnjkPghTBX9","period":"201601","orgUnit":"aXmBzv61LbM"}

[Dhis2-users] UID issues when loading dataentry module or user management

2016-10-20 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Dear All,

You could have noted after upgrading DHIS2 from lower version to 2.24 or
so, the organisationunits may not load when opening data entry module or
user managerment so you can't attach any user to any orgunit.

We noted that the issue is brought about by a Token Error on uid. All the
orgunits with uid starting with a number will cause this to fail in dhis2
2.24 or so. To resolve, we managed to write an SQL query to update the uids
as below.

UPDATE organisationunit SET uid = (
 CASE
WHEN (substring(uid FROM 1 FOR 1)) = '0'
THEN 'o' || substring(uid FROM 2)
WHEN (substring(uid FROM 1 FOR 1)) = '1'
THEN 'a' || substring(uid FROM 2)
WHEN (substring(uid FROM 1 FOR 1)) = '2'
THEN 'b' || substring(uid FROM 2)
WHEN (substring(uid FROM 1 FOR 1)) = '3'
THEN 'c' || substring(uid FROM 2)
WHEN (substring(uid FROM 1 FOR 1)) = '4'
THEN 'd' || substring(uid FROM 2)
WHEN (substring(uid FROM 1 FOR 1)) = '5'
THEN 'e' || substring(uid FROM 2)
WHEN (substring(uid FROM 1 FOR 1)) = '6'
THEN 'f' || substring(uid FROM 2)
WHEN (substring(uid FROM 1 FOR 1)) = '7'
THEN 'g' || substring(uid FROM 2)
WHEN (substring(uid FROM 1 FOR 1)) = '8'
THEN 'h' || substring(uid FROM 2)
WHEN (substring(uid FROM 1 FOR 1)) = '9'
THEN 'i' || substring(uid FROM 2)
ELSE
uid
END
  )
WHERE uid ~ '^[0-9]';

Replacing the starting number with a letter random.

Hope this helps

Re: [Dhis2-users] DHIS2 SMS WebAPI

2015-08-20 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Thank You Jason,

We already have a settings in DHIS2 that can send/receive messages, but
like I said, we need to be sending automated SMS reminders to a selected
users who have not yet sent their report to do so.

I have tried the messageConversations Option and it seems to work fine. The
main challenge that I realized is that we shall need to enable over 4000+
users account with SMS notifications. problem is it is not possible to do
that at once may be through a systems settings and the like.

I tried seeing the userSettings resource (from DHIS2 Developer Docs
<https://www.dhis2.org/doc/snapshot/en/user/html/ch25s29.html> ) to update
user accounts but that seems not to be working/accessible at least for my
instance. Any advise to changing the user settings to enable SMS
Notifications.

Thanks again.

Stephen

Re: [Dhis2-users] Display indicator in another dataset

2015-07-21 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Dear Pramil,

I am not sure if indicators can just be used for data entry in DHIS2. In
DHIS2, indicators are calculated from data elements which are instead used
in data entry.

In this case, your indicators can be used while generating your reports
e.g. using pivot table or any other analytics packages of DHIS2.

Thanks

Re: [Dhis2-users] Need for support

2013-12-02 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Dear Ali,

Which browser are you using? You might need to try upgrading your Browser
to the latest version and it is also recommended that you use Google Chrome
(latest) or atleast Firefox.

That might sort you out!!!

Thanks

Re: [Dhis2-users] webhosting for DHIS2

2013-07-29 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Dear Perez,

You could try a look at DHIS2 Hosting or You
will need a Good VPS if you are comfortable with configuring the
environment suitable for DHIS2 Hosting. We have been installing our DHIS2
Apps in some VPS provided by Contabo VPS .
With VPS, you have FULL control of the Server (Restart, Install Packages
etc).

Hoping that helps

Re: [Dhis2-users] Troubles running datamart

2013-05-14 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Did the manual generation produce any data/reports ??

Looking at the Log file, I looks rather crowded and Setting Tomcat LOG
LEVELS to INFO, DEBUG (I am not sure how now) only would be great so that
it skips out all the logs like Hibernate:...

Could also try to rectify the indicators(I am not sure whether it also
affects DATAMART generation). I did not see the cause of the error in the
log.

To View Log on the Fly, you could

tail -f /var/logs/tomcat7/catalina.out (if the log file is in
/var/logs/tomcat7 path ... and the log file is catalina.out

Thanks

Analytics and Data Mart

   - Analytics and Data Mart (In version 2.11 Hopefully 2.10 also)

But idealy it should be under Reports then on the left pane, select *Analytics

What are the properties of the Fields for the Data Elements used for
reporting?

Could you try manually generating the datamart and send us the complete LOG
from where the error start upto where you can see Caused by:

That kind of gives a clear picture of what is causing the problem
Waiting ...

Re: [Dhis2-users] Troubles running datamart

2013-05-14 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Dear Orvalho,

DHIS2 Datamart sometim sometimes fails to run due to Invalid Data submitted
during Reporting e.g. if it is expected a Number and either Text or just
space or NULL (java.lang.NullPointerException) is submitted, It fails to
run. This has been sorted in the latest version. Please try Upgrading your
DHIS2 to the latest version and Try running again. The latest version will
skip invalid data values and you can track it from the Log file for all the
Ignored data values ...

Hopefully this helps

Stephen

[Dhis2-users] Generating Reporting Rate Summary for Org. Unit Groups

2013-04-08 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Dear All,

I am trying to generate a Reporting rate summary for Organization Unit
Groups but I noticed that I am still required to select an Organization
Unit inorder to generate this report.

I am asking, why should I not be left to select the Org. Unit Group and
then All the Org. Units within this group automatically summarized and
loaded with their respective rate or their rate in someother way?

Thank
Stephen O.

Re: [Dhis2-users] Data not Saved

2013-04-04 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Dear Lars,

We have sorted the problem out. and We noted that Using Mysql as the DBMS
does NOT create one Table (minmaxdataelement)

I have manually Created a similar table (based on PostgreSQL) for Mysql
(See Attached).

Our Concern is is there a way of Incorporating this Table for MySQL so that
it does not cause any future problem???

Thanks

I *Think *another way could be to use a WebAPI ... though that
wouldrequire you to do some coding (One time
coding) on a import script ...

But First try the Randy's alternative.

[Dhis2-users] Help Required

2011-10-27 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Hullo All,

I have set up DHIS 2.5 on Ubuntu Server Using the Installation Steps
Outlined on the website (dhis2.org) and the application seems not to be
picking the database connection setting in hibernate.properties.

On Logging, I See the following Message:
"The database is currently running in-memory. This is useful for testing
purposes but might happen because your database configuration was not picked
up. Please make sure this is intentional. Your data will be destroyed when
the application shuts down."

My Hibernate File is in /home/root/dhis2/DHIS2_HOME/hibernate.properties

MY Environment Variable is Here.
/usr/local/apache-tomcat-7.0.22/bin/setenv.sh and the content of the
setenv.sh is below

export JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun
export JAVA_OPTS="-Xmx600m -XX:MaxPermSize=1000m"
export DHIS2_HOME=/home/root/dhis2/DHIS2_HOME/

Thanks for any Help
Stephen Ocaya

[Dhis2-users] Challenges Deploying DHIS2 to a Remote Host

2011-10-25 Thread Ocaya Stephen
Dear All, I am facing some bit of a challenge Deploying my DHIS2.war
application to a Hosting Company. May be I missed some of the steps
involved. It tells me that deployment was done (I used filezilla to load the
war file and it automatically deployed the application BUT NOT STARTED). The
Challenge now is to configure it to link to my hibernate properties and
thereafter the database connection.

Anystep is appreciated

Stephen
