RP is not connecting for me now. Might be server issues on their end or possibly just reached their allowed connection number of logins. toby10's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96945 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Ah yes, I used to pass through Barcombe Mills on the train on my way to school in Lewes - until Dr Beeching closed the line south of Uckfield. After that it was a 70 min bus journey each way. cliveb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=348 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96877 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Uckfield or even Tunbridge Wells (where I want to school) would seem better placed. Odd to think you will have seen my house as you headed to Priory, a third of a mile before the Mills station and on the right the length of a field away. By itself except for a ruddy great Sussex Barn right next to it. The Anglers Rest is gone too. Bit of a shame really, otherwise it'd have been my local. [slim] Rebuffering Problem
Hello, I have a Squeezebox system running on wifi thru a Timecapsule with 3 airport express units extending the network. I have a Vortexbox with 1Gb RAM, with almost 2TBs of FLAC files. My 8 clients are a Transporter, a Touch, and 6 Radios. I recently switched Vortexboxes and to a 2TB unit. I am experiencing significant rebuffering issues, about every 10-20 seconds. Occasionally it causes the Transporter to freeze and have to be reset. This only happens when I am streaming my local collection, not on Pandora. I am running the most recent version of LMS on the Linux based system. I posted at the Vortexbox forums and was advised that it was most likely a network issue. I do not think that is the case, as I never experienced any issues before, and do not experience them with Pandora. I realize that Pandora sampling is lower, but it seems that there is some sort of incompatibility or hardware issue. I have reset everything, reloaded LMS and even reset the timecapsule and the Expresses. This is a really frustrating problem. shamanjr's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=48112 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96985 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

All are running updated VB updates and LMS updates. I have transporter, touch(s), Radios, and booms. I stream local FLAC files and online things as well (like pandora). I have no buffering issues, etc. I very much suspect that you have an issue with your network. Could be something related to IP address, DNS info in your new VB setup, etc. I'm not a network guy, but sure sounds like a network issue. And I do know that with all the same equipment as you I have no buffering issues with FLAC files (mostly 16/44.1 but I do have a few 24/96 files too that work fine). garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96985 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Rebuffering Problem
To rule out an wifi issue ( which is most likely here as higher bitrate stuff buffers and dropout ) try a player via Ethernet ,don't forget to redo the networks settings plugin in the cable does do this automatically . I assume that vb is wired to router ,with that many players ? Now try it .
