Re: [slim] Net::UDAP - SqueezeBox Receiver configuration tool
Is there any ongoing support for this software? I know it's free, but it also appears to cause problems for a lot of users yet support is limited to just one or two helpful people on here. Is there anywhere else to get help with this as I've had the same problem since October and never been able to use my SB Receiver :) -- jamesg1979 jamesg1979's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16824 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57861 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

flattermann;595006 Wrote: Take a look at your router config page, there should be a note if you should enter the key as hex or string. (This is only important for WEP, WPA always uses a passphrase *string*.) The difference is this: Any character of the WEP key is encoded as ASCII value. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASCII#ASCII_printable_characters I.e. the character A is encoded as hex value 41, B is 42... So a string ABCDE is represented as hex values 41 42 43 44 45. On the other hand, the character 4 is encoded as hex value 34. So the *string* 4142434445 would be encoded as 34 31 34 32 34 33 34 34 34 35. Anyway, for WPA, just use a string like This Is My Password. Set it in your router (*without* the quotes) and set it in Net::UDAP with the command set ... wireless_wpa_psk=This Is My Password ... (*with* the quotes). OK we're getting somewhere, the light has now changed to yellow :) Not sure what that means, but we're not flashing red anymore :) Thanks -- jamesg1979 jamesg1979's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16824 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57861 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Net::UDAP - SqueezeBox Receiver configuration tool
Thanks a lot Christian, I'll give it a go tomorrow evening (on my works Christmas doo tonight!). I'll consider WPA if I get this working in the first instance. In terms of your question about hex values/string, I'm afraid I don't really know the answer to that. :( How would one find out? -- jamesg1979 jamesg1979's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16824 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57861 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Net::UDAP - SqueezeBox Receiver configuration tool
Good morning. I've still not had any luck with this unfortunately. As I said in an earlier post, all the iems were accepted, but the SB just goes straight back into config mode. Please could someone take the time to assist? -- jamesg1979 jamesg1979's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16824 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=57861 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Net::UDAP - SqueezeBox Receiver configuration tool
OK now got a bit further on. Downloaded the exe. Ran all the commands, list shows all the items that I've added. Reset resets the SBR but then goes straight back into config mode.. Re: [slim] Beta: SqueezeConfig - UDAP Config tool for Android
Hi there, looks like a great app. Can I confirm though that this won't work on Stockware 2.2 Android? -- jamesg1979 jamesg1979's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16824 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=76584 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Music in the Bathroom
Hi there, I have a sb classic and also a radio one is in the kitchen and the other in the lounge. I've decided I want music in the bathroom too, and plan to put in two in-ceiling speakers. I'm unsure what to do though, my first thought was to have the speaker cable going all the way to the lounge amplifier and then using Squeezebox Commander on my Android phone to control it. However, would that mean that everytime I turn it on, I'm also going to have to have it on in the Lounge? My other thought was to buy a receiver and have that in the loft with an old amplifier. Would that work or would I need a controller too? Help appreciated. :) -- jamesg1979 jamesg1979's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16824 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=82417 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Crossfader/Zero gaps between songs
lrossouw;551768 Wrote: There is a crossfade option on the webui. If you are running the server software (playing music files stored on your pc) go to the pc running this software and browse to http://localhost:9000/ Once there on the bottom right go to settings \ player \ audio. You need to set it for all players. You should be able to set your crossfade seettings there. Put it on smart cross fade will cross fade songs from different albums but will keep the gaps as per the original on songs from the same album. This is preferable if you play songs from live albums or DJ mixes as in these the music continues smoothly from one track to the next. With smartfade the original timings should be fine if the tracks were ripped correctly. Great thanks, if I was to sync my two players whilst having cross fade on, would it still sync OK? -- jamesg1979 jamesg1979's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16824 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79276 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Crossfader/Zero gaps between songs
I can't find this option anywhere, and I was wondering whether it's possible or not to have no gap between songs? [slim] I might be being a bit thick here...
Sorry if I am. Is there a way if I've synced up my Radio and SBClassic to also play the same music on my PC? Couldn't find anything on the web console, obviously you can control them from the PC, but nothing as far as I could tell would let you listen to the music being played on them whilst they're playing on the players..
