Re: [slim] Identify player help. LMS shows weird Mac and server IP for player (bug?).
Thanks. Sorted it by finding partial IP in router. It was a misnamed player (Bedroom TV). Take care of your tongue. It is in a wet place and can easily slip. Cheers Paul. That's very helpful. As a result of the post above yours I looked at the castbridge config. The information in there is more useful: "What the hell is this? cc:cc:20:30:26:74 d1c1a20b58b0fb88d0fa8ca661dbd92eMaster Bedroom TV" The name on the left is the one I named the device via LMS and the name on the right the Google Home name. So know I know which device it is! But now the problem is different. Why is LMS not playing anything on Lounge TV. Maybe it can't as it's a full Chromecast and not a Chromecast Audio? More fiddling around required. Thanks all. Take care of your tongue. It is in a wet place and can easily slip. Re: [slim] Identify player help. LMS shows weird Mac and server IP for player (bug?).
The CastBridge bridge pretends to be a player and fakes a MAC address. Each of Philippe's bridges has their own range and then they use the end of the MAC address of the real device that they are bridging to at the end. The IP address that LMS sees is the IP address of the bridge ... since it is the LMS player. https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?105198-ANNOUNCE-AirPlay-Bridge-integrate-AirPlay-devices-with-LMS-(squeeze2raop)&p=881219&viewfull=1#post881219 Paul Webster http://dabdig.blogspot.com author of \"now playing\" plugins covering radio france (fip etc), planetradio (bauer - kiss, absolute, scala, jazzfm etc), kcrw, supla finland, abc australia, cbc/radio-canada and rte ireland Paul Webster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=105 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114325 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Why don't you delete the config file inside the CastBridge plugin then re-create? Re: [slim] Identify player help. LMS shows weird Mac and server IP for player (bug?).
Thanks for the replies. I was not sufficiently clear. I have a lot of Chromecast devices so uninstalling castbridge is not an option. And even if it was that still leaves me unable to identify the errant device. The issue is hard to solve as I have a fair number of differing devices running off LMS throughout the house and in various outbuildings (most used but some unused) and teenagers who use the system too. BTW. Can anyone confirm that there is a bug in LMS (8.1.1 - 1610364019) and that the player details, esp. MAC and IP are not shown correctly? If it can be confirmed I'll add it to the bug list (if there is one still). Cheers. Take care of your tongue. It is in a wet place and can easily slip. Re: [slim] Identify player help. LMS shows weird Mac and server IP for player (bug?).
CastBridge is the plugin to enable playoing to Chromecast comaptioble device. I think the plugin works by emulating a squeezelite players in the server and then sending audio to Chromecast device. So uninstall Castbridge plugin if you want to remove it. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114325 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Identify player help. LMS shows weird Mac and server IP for player (bug?).
Hello. There's a player on my network that I can't identify. It'd help if I could gain it's IP and Mac address but the latest version of LMS (8.1.1 - 1610364019) list it's details thus: Player Model: CastBridge Player Type: squeezelite Player IP Address: 192.168.1.200 Player MAC Address: cc:cc:20:30:26:74 The only useful info here tells me it's a google device. The player IP address listed is the server address and the MAC address is malformed. It's the same for all the players. Is this a bug? And. Any idea how I can figure out what/where the mysterious player is? I am playing music at top volume on it but can hear nothing in the house at all. And I've been to each player. Thanks for giving this post any consideration. PS. Also on this version the pre-scan of artwork never even manages to pre-cache the first artwork but just gets stuck on zero. Take care of your tongue. It is in a wet place and can easily slip.
