If you don't mind a second box in your hifi stack, you could just buy a dd-wrt capable router (like 'this one' (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833320026cm_re=asus_dd-wrt-_-33-320-026-_-Product) for $30). Install dd-wrt and just put it into repeater mode. I'm having the same problem. My replacement wireless card actually worked the first day, but by the second day, it was dead again. Wired, my unit works fine.
