Re: [Dspace-tech] xmlui.theme.mirage.item-list.emphasis using both file and metadata

2012-01-24 Thread Nemiz, Elvi S.
Dear DSpacers,

I am resending this query hoping that someone out there have implemented
this. Another user actually contacted with me with similar query. I noticed
that there is only one configuration for xmlui.theme.mirage.item-list in
dspace.cfg and I want to use both file and metadata in different
communities/collections using mirage as our base theme. Hoping for a
positive response and thank you in advance.

Regards,
Elvi

[Dspace-tech] Can DSpace usernames be changed?

2012-01-24 Thread Alicia Verno
Hi everyone,

I received a request today from the owner of my company to change the
user logins for our DSpace instance to be a username of first initial,
last name rather than the full email address. We are only using the
built-in DSpace authorization and do not have any plugins. Does anyone
know if this is possible, and if so, how I can do it?

Thanks,

Alicia

Yes, you can change username. But you need to use pgAdmin , make SQL query
to edit directly into database ( table eperson).

I can't help you - we have the same problem: no pagination in DSpace XMLUI

Anyone have faced this problem? Or have a tip to guide a solution?

[Dspace-tech] Separation of Abstract in more than one language

2012-01-24 Thread Alexandre Zart
Dear Friends

Is it possible, in manual submission of items, to define the language of
each insert of the "Abstract" (dc.description.abstract) field?

We have seen how this can be done in a import of data in batch mode, but not
in manual import. We have customized our "input-forms.xml" in order to
diferentiate our four kinds of items (articles, thesis, journals, book
chapters), and this field must be filled with brazilian portuguese and
english text, each in a separated field.

Thanks for your assistance,

Alexandre Zart

[Dspace-tech] about display-item.jsp

2012-01-24 Thread Miguel Ángel 0rtiz Camilo

Yo,
Right now I'm working on this file because I want to customize several things,
but In matter of fact I don't know how to catch the file type from 'Files on
this item:' section, I only can see the line about:

<%-- The text for the item
Starts here--%>
, I was wondering if there's some information about.
I generated several documents to customize the Dspace, and I want to gave a
feedback for the community. Where I can put some of that information? or I need
to make a slide, pdf, or document to put on slideshare or scribd? Thanks in
advance

Can you confirm that the path shown as #4 in the "DSpace API" section
stated for DSpace 1.5.0 as:

/dspace-xmlui-api/src/main/java/org/dspace/aspect/submission/submit/Desc
ribeStep.java

Is the location in DSpace 1.8.0 at:

/dspace-xmlui-api/src/main/java/org/dspace/app/xmlui/aspect/submission/s
ubmit/DescribeStep.java

And:

That it will work? Been unsuccessful so far...

Re: [Dspace-tech] xmlui.theme.mirage.item-list.emphasis using both file and metadata

2012-01-24 Thread Joseph
One way to do this might be to make one or two copies of mirage theme. In
one you hard code it to emphasise file, in the other you hard code it to
emphasise metadata. Then you can use xmlui.xconf to make the decision
through pattern matching based on the collection/community ID.

There's probably a more elegant way to accomplish it but this should work.
Good luck.

Re: [Dspace-tech] Import metadata: no changes were detected

2012-01-24 Thread Kim Shepherd
Hi Diwakar,

Do you have a 'collection' column in your CSV? It is required by the
Batch Metadata Edit tool, since the collection handle can be changed
to move an item from one collection to another. I think the "no
changes detected" error message, while not very descriptive of the
actual problem, is occurring because a required column is missing.

Cheers,

Kim
