[Dspace-tech] Custom metadata schema in input-forms.xml
Hi everyone, I'm trying to customize my input-forms.xml to create a customized submission that contains references to a new metadata registry that I have enabled: I have a series of fields that look like this in my input-forms.xml: field dc-schemase/dc-schema dc-elementsubject/dc-element dc-qualifiergeographic/dc-qualifier !-- An input-type of twobox MUST be marked as repeatable -- repeatabletrue/repeatable labelSubject Keywords (Geographic)/label input-type value-pairs-name=sespace-geographicdropdown/input-type input-typedropdown/input-type hintEnter appropriate subject keywords describing geographic region of the resource or phrases below. /hint required/required /field I have created a new metadata schema (se) and put the element and qualifier in as well. Yet, I get this error when I attempt to update input-forms.xml as noted above: org.dspace.app.util.DCInputsReaderException: Error creating submission forms: org.xml.sax.SAXException: Form sespace, field subject.geographic has no name attribute Would anybody have an idea of steps I might have missed (e.g. with adding a new metadata schema in the registry, or otherwise...) Any help appreciated... [Dspace-tech] Customizing display of controlled vocabulary terms
Hi there, I'm using Dspace 4.0 and trying to use the controlled vocabulary option as part of the submission process. Right now if you select a term from the controlled vocabulary a term to assign to a submission it shows as this: Research Subject Categories::HUMANITIES and RELIGION (the default controlled vocabs in Dspace) I would like it to just show the last component of the selection (HUMANITIES AND RELIGION), and store that in the metadata, and not the hierarchical part preceding it. Has anyone had any success in editing their controlled vocabularies in this way? Or could someone point me to the place in Dspace where I would be able to customize this? Thank you! Hello helix84, Here is a link to the sub-community that I am using: http://ec.msvu.ca:8080/xmlui/handle/10587/1227 To apply the theme to just the one community, I just used this in xmlui.conf: theme name=Atmire Mirage Theme handle=10587/1192 path=Mirage/ / As you'll notice, I'm using a Mirage-based theme, with some modifications to the CSS mostly. [Dspace-tech] Issue with Locale selection in XMLUI - Mirage theme
Hi there, I am using the Mirage theme for XMLUI for Dspace 4.0 applied to a specific community on my Dspace instance. I have three locales enabled: English, French, and German. It works perfectly fine when I'm browsing a collection within that community, but then the locale selection disappears entirely from the theme when I go to view an item or am at the root level of the community (it doesn't even show up in the resulting HTML code, when I view the source in my browser). Has anybody encountered this issue before and have idea about how to resolve it? Thank you! Roger -- Download BIRT iHub F-Type - The Free Enterprise-Grade BIRT Server from Actuate! [Dspace-tech] Biblio-Transformation errors when importing Bibtex and RIS files
Hey everyone, I'm attempting to import some exported metadata from Zotero in to Dspace using the Biblio-Transformation-Engine via the command line. [Dspace-tech] Displaying text based on dc.type value
Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out with this issue: I'm looking to display a bit of text to indicate items that are citations only, as opposed to those might contain actual digital items. I'm doing this by submitting an item and indicating the value of dc.type as Citation. I was hoping then to edit item-list.xsl (I'm using the Mirage theme in Dspace 3.1) to display a bit of text in order to distinguish items that are citations. So far I've got this: xsl:when test=dim:field[@element = 'type'/node()='Citation' strong CITATION ONLY /strong /xsl:when However, I'm not really seeing any results. Perhaps my use of the xsl:when to specify the value of the node is off? Any help would be appreciated. [Dspace-tech] Creative Commons license problems
Hi all, I have been noticing some issues with our Creative Common license in xmlui. We recently upgraded to 1.6 and I noticed the difference -- the CC license worked fine when we were running 1.5.1. I have one item that had been previously deposited when we were working with 1.5.1 , which has a creative commons license assigned and appears to work fine ( http://dc.msvu.ca:8080/xmlui/bitstream/handle/10587/598/license_text?sequence=3 ) When I submitted another item recently and assigned a Creative Commons license (now that we're running 1.6), I realized that the Creative Commons license wasn't working. At first it wasn't recognizing the mime type and I was prompted to open the license as a plain text file. So, I modified the bitstreams slightly to match those of the item in our repository that has a working Creative Commons license, and it worked somewhat -- it displayed the license as just basic HTML, without the CC license: http://dc.msvu.ca:8080/xmlui/bitstream/handle/10587/941/license_text?sequence=3 Would anybody have any ideas on how to get the Creative Commons license to display properly? I noticed that this issue was supposed to be fixed in 1.6 ( https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-295) , but it doesn't seem to be in our case. Any help would be much appreciated. [Dspace-tech] Disabling Creative Commons license for a specific collection
Hello: I am wondering if anyone knows of a way to disable the Creative commons license step for a specific community or collection in XMLUI? We want to keep the Creative Commons step in for the rest of the communities/themes, however, we would like to remove the Creative Commons step in the submission process for one specific community/theme. In the dspace-tech archives there have been allusions to the possibility of doing such a thing, but I haven't come across anything that explains how exactly to go about doing it. [Dspace-tech] French diacritics in XMLUI
Hello, I have been having difficulty getting the introductory text form to accept french characters such as é in XMLUI -- it just comes out as nonsense. I have tried changing the character encoding settings in webapps/xmlui/WEB-INF/web.xml set to ISO 8859-1 and UTF-8. I have also tried using both letter and numeric character encodings (e.g. eacute; and #233;), still with no luck. I got it so it would accept french characters without entities, but then it does not accept HTML. We are running Dspace 1.5.2 on Windows 2003 server. Any assistance would be appreciated.
