Re: [Dx4win] Converting an ADIF Field?
Eric, From my experiments: comments:nn imports into Notes for this QSO notes:nn imports into Notes for this callsign field How did I test this? I create a monthly ADIF extract from DX4Win to track my CQ Marathon score (using AD1C's nice marathon.exe utility). In that extract the Notes for Callsign are represented with notes:nn. I opened a test log and imported those records into DX4Win. The Names {which are in Notes for Callsign} imported properly. -larry K8UT - Original Message - From: Eric Rosenberg w...@starpower.net To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net; supp...@dx4win.com Sent: Wednesday, April 08, 2009 23:36 Subject: [Dx4win] Converting an ADIF Field? Re: [Dx4win] Converting an ADIF Field?
Unfortunately the import is correct and I don't think you can do anything about it. Comments refer to a specific QSO. Notes apply to the callsign. This is where the name normally goes. This is how it works in all the logging programs I am familiar with. You don't really need a name on a QSL card... and it gets meaningless if you do a lot of contesting where the ops name is often unknown. I've received two conflicting answers. As to the comment: You don't really need a name on a QSL card... and it gets meaningless if you do a lot of contesting where the ops name is often unknown. I agree in the contest context. However, this was a special event station and it would be a nice touch! Eric, (Adif) Notes = Notes for this Call (Adif) Comment = Notes for this QSO So yes you are correct when you do change the fieldname your problem will be corrected With ADIFMaster you can change the columm name directly from notes to comment And delete the original comment colum took me 25 seconds with + 41000 qso testlog Guy ON4AOI -Oorspronkelijk bericht- Van: dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:dx4win- boun...@mailman.qth.net] Namens Eric Rosenberg Verzonden: donderdag 9 april 2009 13:21 Aan: Larry Gauthier (K8UT) CC: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Onderwerp: Re: [Dx4win] Converting an ADIF Field? Oops - I mis-typed my previous posting. Should have said: From my experiments: comment:nn imports into Notes for this QSO notes:nn imports into Notes for this callsign field where nn is the length of the field. Use Notepad (or any text editor - Notepad is notoriously slow at search/replace on large files) to replace comment: with notes:. -larry K8UT - Original Message - From: Eric Rosenberg w...@starpower.net To: Larry Gauthier (K8UT) k...@arrl.net Cc: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Sent: Thursday, April 09, 2009 07:20 Subject: Re: [Dx4win] Converting an ADIF Field? Hello all. Anyone tried to run DX4Win on the Ubuntu platform? I played a while with it. It seems to work well, but I didn't test the COM or LPT ports. 73 de Isidro, EA8NQ E-mail: ea8...@hotmail.com (remove the _ ) Visit the EA8NQ's web page (in Spanish): http://ea8nq.ure.es/ __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
