[Dx4win] Setting Groups with v8.05
I have been trying to set group filters or whatever they might be so as to separate my log for 6 different calls. I have be able to do this, however they disappear after leaving Dx4Win and returning. Any help would be appreciated TIA 73 Hugh, K7XM __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Dx4win] SugarSync - synchronize/backup your DX4WIN log
For the last couple of years, I've been using SyncBackSE ( http://www.2brightsparks.com/ ) to synchronize my DX4WIN data between two computers. I recently switched to SugarSync: https://www.sugarsync.com/ SugarSync gives you 2 GB of free storage in the cloud'. Like SyncBackSE, it backs up as soon as your files change, rather at some pre-determined time. Unlike SyncBackSE, it does not depend on the remote computer being reachable to be able to backup the log. When the remote computer comes on, SugarSync will download the changes. I've been very happy with the product so far. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, jjreis...@alum.mit.edu, http://www.ad1c.us __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Dx4win] DX4WIN Data Updater v. 4.3 released
I have released version 4.3 of the DX4WIN Data Updater: http://dx4win.ad1c.us/updater/ If you run the current updater (4.2), it will prompt you to download and install the new version. After the program exits, you must copy DX4WUPD.EXE from the UPDATE directory to the directory that contains DX4WIN.EXE. Then, run the DX4WIN Data Updater again, and confirm that it reports the new version (4.3). This version adds a new command to download the DX Calendar from the 425 DX News web site. Special thanks to Leo, IZ5SFA for making this happen! Note that the sample DX4WUPD.RC files in the ZIP archive were all updated to add this command. You can download the ZIP file and extract the new .RC file from the appropriate DX4WIN# directory to the same directory as DX4WUPD.EXE, or you can edit the DX4WUPD.RC file you are currently using and add -cal on a line all by itself. Here are the release notes: 4.3 - 5 September 2011 New: –cal downloads the DX calendar from the 425 DX News web site Please report any program or documentation errors to me so I can fix them. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, jjreis...@alum.mit.edu, http://www.ad1c.us __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN Data Updater v. 4.3 released
Why do I always leave something out? You still have to import the calendar after the importer downloads it. Re: [Dx4win] Setting Groups with v8.05
Under Preferences set Setup - QSO - Group to the group you want D4W to begin with. I used groups 00-17 for my previous call sign. I use groups 20+ for my new call sign. By defaulting QSO-Group to 20 (which is my new all QSOs group), I default to the correct group. Re: [Dx4win] Setting Groups with v8.05
No, that does not work. I just tried it. I sure wish that Paul would make it an option to open the log so that the default group number is automatically selected as the filter. The log currently opens to all qsos, and I have to change it to my default group every time that I open the program. Re: [Dx4win] Setting Groups with v8.05
I guess I've been using this feature without realizing it: When adding new QSOs, the initial value is obtained from the default QSO mwfpqso.htm. *All subsequent entries will be copied from the last QSO entered.* Sorry for the mistake. Re: [Dx4win] Setting Groups with v8.05
Jim I restart DX4WIN in a group other than 0. I have set the default group in FILE/PREFERENCES/QSO (in my case 2) and that is the default of each start-up of DX4WIN. Worked OK in V8.04 and works OK in V8.05. Arne N7KA Arne N7KA - Original Message - Hugh, groups are saved in the logbook file.
