9- month, Tenure Track, 75% Research, 25% Teaching

We are seeking a collaborative and innovative scientist who investigates 
ecotoxicology, 
environmental toxicology, evolution of resistance, toxicological effects on 
beneficial or 
other non-target arthropods (lethal and sublethal effects), and/or molecular, 
physiological, 
or chemical mechanisms of toxicity and detoxification. Research interests can 
include 
emerging environmental contaminants or toxicology of insect-resistant crops. 
The 
candidate is expected to develop an independent research program with external 
funding. 
In addition to conducting research, other responsibilities include teaching an 
undergraduate course, developing a graduate course in the candidate’s specialty 
area, and 
advising graduate students. The successful candidate will be an active 
participant in the 
department, the college, and may participate in the Center for Chemical 
Ecology, the 
Environmental and Natural Resource Institute, Institute of Ecology, Center for 
Pollinator 
Research, Center for Molecular Toxicology and Carcinogenesis, Center for 
Watershed 
Stewardship, and the Intercollege Graduate Programs in Ecology, and Molecular 
Cellular 
and Integrative Biosciences.

Location will be in the Department of Entomology, College of Agricultural 
Sciences, The 
Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA 16802.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in toxicology, entomology, ecology, biology, chemistry or 
a related 
scientific discipline with demonstrated accomplishments in research relevant to 
the job 
description. Expertise may include chemistry, insect physiology, molecular 
biology and/or 
regulatory policy. The candidate should have peer-reviewed publications, 
demonstrated 
skill in securing grants or strong potential to secure extramural funding, and 
evidence of 
interdisciplinary collaborations. Ph.D. must be complete at time of appointment.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. An excellent

Tech.  We are searching broadly in any area of toxicology that complements
existing department strengths.  Since we have a strong ecology group in the
department, potential complementary areas could include toxicology of trace
metal and/or organic contaminants, ecotoxicology, remediation and
restoration, and toxicology in humans and animal species.

Michigan Tech is located in Houghton Michigan, which is in the UP on the
