Re: [Elecraft] K3: RE: Constant Level Line Out Monitor of Xmit Audio
Reviving this thread, because I don't think we ever got a comment from the mother ship. The ability to feed monitor audio to LIN OUT without having it in headphones or speaker is very useful for contesters. Most SO2R ops prefer never to hear their own CW, but recordings that *don't* have it are very difficult to use. Any further thought being given to this option? -- 73, Pete N4ZR Just ran across this yesterday. I installed RecallPro on my desktop with the thought of recording some upcoming contests as I've done years ago. I fed the line out to my sound card only to discover that my sent CW doesn't appear on it. Would love to see the option of adding the operator sending to the mix. It's too awkward to patch the headphone jack to the soundcard.. -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/Re-K3-RE-Constant-Level-Line-Out-Monitor-of-Xmit-Audio-tp5732099p5733919.html Sent from the [K3] mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Elecraft] K3 "SPKR+PH" Configuration
I'd hoped to use this configuration in the FL QSO Party next weekend so the driver could hear what was going on while the operator had the benefit of shutting out road noise with headphones. Setting the option to "YES" does indeed enable the SPKR, but headphones change to sound in left ear only and AFX ceases to function. Do other K3's work this way, or just mine? -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/K3-%22SPKR%2BPH%22-Configuration-tp16763988p16763988.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Re: [Elecraft] K3 Split Operation
I used to use my A and B VFOs on the Omni VI for switching bands during the Sprint. I could assign VFO A to 20M and VFO B to 40M on radio 1 and VFO A to 40M and VFO B to 80M on Radio 2. With my K3s, I do not intend to use the subreceiver option ever. Is it not possible to have splits that operate between bands? I did the same with my FT-1000MP. Yes, it would be handy to be able to do that on the K3 also. -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/K3-Split-Operation-tp1341506p1342170.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Re: [Elecraft] Power has disappeared
3. I would set the temp calibration back to where it was before shipping it back to Elecraft. Especially since it appears that is the only change you made before the loss of power occurred. -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/Power-has-disappeared-tp7620735p7620901.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
[Elecraft] AFSK
I'm unable to transmit an AFSK signal in DATA mode, although I can transmit RTTY in LSB mode. The line output from my computer soundcard does have the audio signal on it and is connected to the Line In mono jack on the K3. For MIC SEL in configuration, I have Line In selected. DATA MD is set to AFSK A and shows 45 bps. PITCH is set to 2125-170. Using MMTTY software barefoot which works properly with my FT-1000MP (same cable, but new phone plug connectors to mate with K3). K3 goes into transmit mode and audio signal is present on cable feeding K3's Line In, but no modulation. What am I missing?? -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/AFSK-tp14490402p14490402.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Re: [Elecraft] AFSK on K3
Make sure you have the latest firmware. Up until the recent release there were problems with the Line In. One problem was that although you had Line In selected, it really wasn't selected unless you went in to the menu and selected another input and the re-selected Line In. I would try that to see if that is the problem. I had that problem when using basic LSB or USB modes with Line In. Thanks Ed but, yes I do have the latest firmware. And the MIC SEL had been changed several times between rP.H (for SSB) and Line In (for AFSK). Again, the Line In selection works if I transmit AFSK in LSB mode. But no modulation when in DATA mode. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/AFSK-on-K3-tp14490402p14490673.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Re: [Elecraft] AFSK on K3
I just ran some tests here. The K3 data modes called DATA A and DATA A REV are working in transmit with LINE IN and should work with any soundcard mode, including AFSK. The K3 data mode called AFSK appears to not be working properly in transmit. Unfortunately, DATA A doesn't work very well for receiving RTTY. The SHIFT has to be set to the upper limit - which still doesn't reach the center of the passband - and width can't be used below about 450 cycles. Also, DUAL PB is not usable. AFSK A works perfectly for receive. Now if only it worked for transmit.. My hope is that this will be fixed in a firmware revision before the ARRL RTTY Roundup on January 5/6??? -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/AFSK-on-K3-tp14490402p14491019.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
