Re: [Elecraft] Xtal Socket - a bit off topic
And if you take two FT-243 xtals and tape them upside down and back to back you can electrically switch between two crystals at a time and flip them over mechanically for a total of 4 frequencies (if there is headroom for the pins that will be sticking above the top of the crystal that is plugged in). RE: [Elecraft] Xtal Socket - a bit off topic
Ken, If you cannot find a real crystal socket, you could use an octal tube socket which may be a bit easier to find. Should you decide to go the octal socket route, I can likely dig one out of my 'old stuff' junkbox - just send me your address. 73, Don W3FPR -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Ken Kaplan Sent: Sunday, March 05, 2006 10:12 PM To: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Elecraft] Xtal Socket - a bit off topic I'm searching for an FT-243 crystal holder, the type used on DX-40's, Eico 723's and a million other 60's transmitters.
