Re: [Elecraft] "Kool-Aid" -- was "2m Module"

2013-08-23 Thread Jim Lowman

I drank a lot of different flavors of Kool-Aid as a child.
It was made in large quantities, like a pitcher, and was less expensive
per ounce/glass than soda/pop.

I'm sure that cost was the rationale for many parents.

Re: [Elecraft] "Kool-Aid" -- was "2m Module"

2013-08-23 Thread Richard
However, as used here, it seems to mean that one has become a believer in
Elecraft products. In early usage there was an implication of absolute, blind,
loyalty, but that seems to have fallen off given the open and technical
discussions. Perhaps it now implies educated loyalty when used here.

Re: [Elecraft] kool-aid

2009-07-31 Thread Wes Stewart
Mix up your favorite flavor of Koolaid, leaving out the sugar and put it in a
spray bottle.  Cover your work surface with a sheet of heavy paper or light
cardboard and spritz it with the Koolaid.  (Just a little and repeat as
necessary)

There is your antistatic surface.  As the guy who invented the "pink poly"
antistatic bags told me in an ESD seminar once, "You can't get a static charge
off a wet cat."
