The easy way out is to make a diskdumpp into an image file, for example:

dd if=/dev/hdc/ of=/home/bughunter/image.raw

Then use cdrecord with the -data flag. The drawback of this procedure is that
all read errors are dupplicated, too. But I had good results only doing that.

Hi Juergen,

I don't know much about fvwm, but why do you think, that the behaviour you
described has something to do with _VMWARE_ ?

Thank you for your answer, Larry. I'm using KDE but no Klyx. I installed all
packages. My PProblem is only, that the texconfig script of the tetex
distribution is not running on my MDK 7.02. texconfig is important for me in
order to set some defaults, f. e. ppaper size, ps output and so on. Because I
am not clever enough to fix this, I'm gonna search all config files under
/texmf and edit them by hand ..aaargl¡¿

initrd points to the initial ramdisk. The ramdisk contains th first filesystem
mounted including some kernel modules, e.g. the scsi-modul.

[expert] configuring TeX

2000-03-08 Thread Tobias Kahre

Hi,

is there anyone in here having TeX configured, up and running on MDK 7.02 ?
My texconfig does only the following:

root@schreibtisch /root]# texconfig
root@schreibtisch /root]# /usr/bin/texconfig: /tmp/texconf710/logfile: Datei
oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden (file not found)

The texconfig README pppoints out that on some distributions the script is not
running due some bad configured terminfo. But setting the ENVARS reasonable for
texconfig, the behaviour is still the same :-(

Any helpp is strongly apppreciated!

regards,
Tobias

pp.s.: yesthe 'p' on my keyboard is defective !
