Gray Fjords
This message is from: SUSAN L GIARGIARI <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hello List! I am interested in a top quality gray Drafty Fjord mare to add to our working and mare herd. I would appreciate any feed back from breeders on the list, (you too Julie Will!). We show all over and do our haying as of this year with our horses, having just started to drive a 3 abreast to mow and rake. We forked the windrows by hand to pick up but next year after a trip to PA we will have a baler to pull with the mares. We do our hayrides with 3 and sometimes 4 abreast. We have an awesome Hilmar / Sf Sunday filly and a Dena / Hostar filly who is more the middle type. She was first weanling filly at Woodstock and Dena/Taylor were first mare and foal at the Hopkinton Draft Horse Show( against 5 Haflinger mare & foals! Please contact us when you can. We will be busy this next week going to Equine Affaire in MA but will get back to any one who is interested after the 8th of November. Hope you all had a quite Halloween! We just got back from doing hayrides in the dark all evening and the mares were great with all the scary things flying out in the dark and screaming and lights sometimes flashing! Bye for now , Richard G.

Re: Committee Membership
This message is from: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Inquiry to Julia Will from Wayne Hipsley Recently, I have had private emails from members wondering how they can become a member of the evaluation committee. I am like them curious about the policy on NFHR Committee membership. I think the answers to these questions will assist the membership better understand how they can participate and support the NFHR. Sorry if some of these questions overlap. 1. I presume the committee members serve at the pleasure of the President, thus meaning the re-appointment of all committee members is pivotal on the actions of the president? Or, is it the BOD instead of the President? 2. I know you, Mike and others have discussed the services of members "volunteering" to participate on committees. How does a member volunteer for a committee? To whom do they "apply" for a committee? Is there a formal list of committees for the members to select from? 3. Does the NFHR have a policy whereby the number of committee members are limited on specific committees? 4. Is there a formal policy on the length of time a committee member serves on a committee? 5. Based on your remarks in yesterday's Digest one could presume the committees are composed of NFHR Directors. How does the election or re- election of directors impact on composition of committees? 6. How does a committee member or NFHR member become the chair of a committee? What is the term of service? 7. Is the policy on the committees and their appointments incorporated into the NFHR Bylaws? 8. Is there an effort to appoint or limit committee membership to geographic/regional distribution? Thanks for taking the time to respond.
