The caps that go on the T posts have the holder for electric fencing, so all
of my fields have electricity to dissuade playful nibblers or escape
artists. This is 28 years and they still work. They were knocked out
during our hurricane, and sure enough old Gunner started rubbing and
pushing. So today he is in for a big surprise! I patched the line and
replaced the boards and the electricity is on. I think he can sense that.

My neighbor uses pvc pipe to make caps for T-posts. He also uses them to
add electric fence to the top of the t-post fenceline.

His system is cheaper than the t-post caps.

If you have a tennis club or school tennis club you can request the "dead"
tennis balls and use them as T- post toppers they work well as long as you
don't cut them to big and your Fjord takes them of to have a new toy!

We also have a T-post puller it's the handles of the ponder. If you place
the handle down the middle of the post and catch it on one of the knobs,
with a strong pull or two they come out. Sometimes both myself and my
husband or kid have to grab a hold. We have clay soil so they do stick, but
this method works well for us. IF were lazy or we have a whole line of fence
to move, we attach a chain to it and pull it up and out with the tractor. We
already have one of these so there is no extra expense other than the beer
after a hard day fencing : )

More on T-posts

I have been following the thread on T-posts and I agree they can be
lethal. A neighbor of ours lost their horse when she impaled herself
on a T-post. But, I have to add, our whole pasture/paddock system is
surrounded by T-posts, BUT>each and every one of them, and there
are a couple hundred or so, are all capped with round plastic
tops. Not a guarantee that nothing will happen, but at least if a
horse jumps, rubs, or what ever else they can do to themselves, they
have a chance to bounce off. As yet, we haven't had any injuries
using these T-post toppers and we've been using them for over 12
years. I highly suggest anyone that uses T-posts top them with T-post caps.

I would also like to mention, there is a tool called a T-post puller
that works great for pulling T-posts out of the ground. They sell
for around $35-$40 in many farm and equine catalogs. We have one and
it works great. We have had to move fence lines many times and this
tool gets those T-posts out of the ground in no time. Well worth the price.
