Does anyone know of this problem with the old type rigs, the ones with
knobs? Do any of those old rigs get stuck with the transmitter keyed ON,
and the only way to terminate the RF out would be to power down the A/C?

We are charting new waters here with this rig. When I was setting up the
station CW with the 5000a It got 'stuck' ON and the only solution was to
turn it off and reboot the computer. If I were operating remote I'd make
sure the station had an independent OFF timer.

I note that for some time the BINAURAL operation does not work in AM.

This is a pity as it simulates a pleasing Stereo AM.

I find, however, that by tuning in an AM station in either USB or LSB and
 widening the sideband passband to

6.0 KHz. Then clicking on BIN, the effect of Binaural sound is returned.

Any chance of making the BIN control work in AM?.

I have made several awesome sounding recordings with the SDR, however when
trying to play the recordings back on anything other that the Flex

 Thats right 'mixalot',
 I have the same.
As I understand it it isnt a normal sound-file, but the IQ signal
comming from the soundcard during reception.
That must be 'decoded' bij the SDR software to retreve the
original sound. You can even change the tuning and demodulation
within the banwith of the recording.
Maybe is there a method to record the audio output from the soundcard
(the speaker output) to a soundfile during recording, possible through
a cable to an extra soundcards input.
 Anny ideas someone?

 Hi

To save the processed audio (the audio coming from your speaker) simply
 check
the box in the option of wave manager window.

You can save the pre-processed audio (the spectrum) or the post-processed
 audio (the sound)

The support.flex-radio.com and www.hamsdr.com sites are up and running
 again.

I suspect the problem was related to having run out of disk space due to
*someone* neglecting to remove a lot of accumulated and outdated backup
 files. That has been corrected.

We are also working to build a server cluster to add multiple levels of
hardware redundancy, however it will probably be several months before
 that is completed.

 Sorry for the interruption.

 All,

I installed version 1.6.1. The audio is corrupted sounding like a
motorboat. I tried to uninstall v1.6.1 and then reinstall. After
several attempts this never fixed the problem. v1.6.0 on the same
machine works. The optimization routine just after installation ran
fine and the old database was imported.

Hi All

Would like to use the SDR for serious contesting. So far have been unable
to resolve several issues. Normally run SO2R at high power using a FT-100
MK-V and and IC781 plus amps. The station is adequate to achieve rates of
70 to 80 per hour under good conditions. Use FSK with MMTTY with N1MM or
WRITELOG software. Station is stable with minimum RFI in the shack and
only
problem is second harmonic of 40 meters de-sensing the 20 meter radio for
a

portion of the 20 meter RTTY band (+- 10 kHz from 2x the 40 meter freq.).

However:

Using VAC:
DIGL PTT drops out too fast and loses parts of messages
ZERO beat moves the rtty mark signal to the center of the filter band and
not to 2125 Hz. ditto for mouse click .
Using any external program ( MMTTY or N1MM) with PTT by radio command
causes the the SDR-1K to immediately go into receive before transmitting
of

of the letters still in the pipeline.
On the other hand: It takes 2.4 seconds to go into xmit before it sends
out data.
This is independent of audio buffer or DSP size from 512 to 2048 VAC
buffer

held at 256
as an example, buffer contains (including spaces:

{TX}CQ TEST DE NO2T NO2T{ENTER}  {RX}

What get received (FT 1KMK-V) is:

(transmitter on)__ CQ TEST DE NO2T NO(transmitter off)noise noise etc.
The underlines representing carrier without diddles or any modulation.
Changing the VAC delay to 10 ms/int maybe causes startup time of 2.03
seconds between keying and data. Shut down is immediate with loss of last
few letters.

Without VAC and using an AUREAL AUDIO sound card everything works well--
but not enough power output with the audio gain at maximum. Delta-44 shows
-35 db on it's WAVE OUT 3/4 display. Using VAC gives all the output
needed

to drive the external amplifiers.

I have tried to fix some of the problems:
POWER 1.6.0 (Modified SOURCE CODE AND COMPILED so that DIGL uses CW mouse
click)
Freq readout on diplay for DIGL is off 2 kHz from mark freq. The same is
true in the N1MM bandmap when used in the same computer using VCOM to
provide the interconnection.
BUT!!!:

The frequency sent to a real ComPort and to another radio is correct!
By REAL is meant the frequency shown is the MARK freqeuncy. This is
commonaly used to define the location of a RTTY signal.

Where in the code is the

Bill,

You get a kind of stereo impression with BIN enabled when receiving AM
with

USB, LSB or DSB mode. However you have to tune carefully to zero beat to
suppress the carrier in order to avoid a beat note.

It will be in the same folder as powersdr.exe. This will be either ..

use debug and never to a complete release.

I should have known better than to make even a simple code change, and
not test it. The code was correctly limiting the upload length to 40MB,
but the server was limiting it to approx. 16MB. That has been corrected

So, please try uploading your file again when you have a chance, and let

I am trying to upload a 37,763 KB zip file containing a 66 MB .wav.
It eats the file and then
displays the unknown page message below. File is named 2006-01-26
11 24 00 PM.zip.

Folks,

The maximum filesize limit for uploads, has been increased from 10 MB to
40 MB.

When uploading .wav and other media files, please consider compressing
them first with a 'zip' utility. This will typically reduce a .wav
file's size by about 30%. More importantly though, it will present the
file as a 'compressed' file and NOT as a media file.
