How to import Autocad2000 into FM?
I use a similar amount of work--don't have Illustrator, but have CorelDraw 12. We actually use AutoCAD 2006, but Corel won't open anything newer than 2000, so I save the CAD drawing down to 2000 (actually, I have AutoCAD set to save as 2000 by default for this reason), then open in CorelDraw, clean up any extraneous lines and export to wmf, choosing "text" when prompted to "export text as text or curves". Have also tried exporting to .tif and .png but the lines seem clearest with wmf's. I'm not sure if this is any less work than your current method, and if someone has a better suggestion, by all means... -Lise Bible -Original Message- From: framers-bounces+rentagoodbook=gmail@lists.frameusers.com [mailto:framers-bounces+rentagoodbook=gmail.com at lists.frameusers.com] On Behalf Of Chuck Heinrichs Sent: Tuesday, June 05, 2007 4:52 PM To: framers at lists.frameusers.com Subject: How to import Autocad2000 into FM? Linking to PDFs from Frame
I know this has been asked 8 billion times, but I can't access the Frameusers.com search function. We're moving slowly and painfully to a DITA solution, so we have stuff in FrameMaker, and stuff in XML. We have a pure XML DITA tool set (not FrameMaker for DITA) and FrameMaker 7.1. I have one chapter that's in XML that we use our tools to turn into a PDF. I then will add this PDF to the end of a PDF generated from our FrameMaker source. I know I can add bookmarks in Adobe Acrobat. I know that I can use a hypertext marker "message openfile pathname" to open a PDF. 1. Is there a way to open to a specific heading in a PDF? 2. If I add the XML source PDF to the end of a FrameMaker source PDF in Adobe Acrobat to create a single PDF, is there a way to create/keep Xrefs? Thanks! Zoë Choose the right car based on your needs. Re: Updating and saving an entire book
Hi You can disable the dialog box. Here's how: 1. Open Framemaker 2. Choose File > Preferences > General 3. Clear the Show warnings while clearing history check box. 4. Click Set. --- | | | | || | | | http://hellotw.freeforums.org/portal.php ___ You are currently subscribed to Framers as [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send list messages to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or visit http://lists.frameusers.com/mailman/options/framers/archive%40mail-archive.com Send administrative questions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Visit http://www.frameusers.com/ for more resources and info.

Just a note: Even after making the suggested changes the warning will still show, but only the first time for each type of undo. Is there any way to stop this dialog box from appearing when I save or update documents? Re: FM crashes on print book to file (surprise! No?)
Thanks for the link, Art. It will come in handy. Makes always getting the right setting file in FM easy, cause there aren't any options. In case Dov Isaacs isn't online today to promptly chastise you, permit me. ;-) ROFLMAO! You are welcome. And don't you tell me you don't enjoy it! ;-) Multiple/mixed Acrobat installations are a very, very bad idea. Dov has warned countless times that it can lead to unpredictable and unstable behavior. When you installed FM, you should not have installed Distiller 7 (assuming you'd prefer the full Acrobat 6 to just Distiller 7). And it has all been said many times before, _but_ this has usually not been a problem when you first install the newer version of Distiller and then the older one. Now, you need to completely uninstall both Acrobat 6 and Distiller 7. After that's done, either reinstall one, but not the other, or wait until you get Acrobat 8, and then install it. Do *not* install Acrobat 8 without removing Acrobat 6 and Distiller 7 first. And this is exactly what I am going to do. :-) I believe the .joboptions files have moved around some in recent releases, but I don't recall the details. Google techwr-l.com for "joboptions locations" or something like that. I seem to recall having to copy my old ones somewhere after moving to Acro 7. HTH! Richard -- Richard G. Frame crashes when trying to generate output from DITA map... (cross posting)
Hi All, Sorry for cross posting... but this is urgent... so I am cross posting this to Framers as well as the DITA+Frame yahoogroup. 7.2b144 OT 1.2.2 I have setup DITA and am trying to generate output from the "test" example, as explained in Adobe's "Using the DITA OT with Frame Application Pack for DITA" PDF. However, as soon as I say Generate Output, Frame asks to save the Ditamap file and Crashes ? citing "7204, 6109890, and 7778516, 0." I even tried reallocating more space to my C to provide Frame more room, but it did not help. Anyone else also encountered this? Will uninstalling Framescript and other plugins help? Thanks in Advance, Gyanesh
