Joel, I do not understand completely:

If you want to write noël (note the trema on the e), you type ESC : e in FM to
get the ë.
On french or swiss keyboards most of the required accents (diacritical marks)
are available as so
called dead keys.

See a complete list of these sequences in the attached pdf (which was with FM
until version 9). Look
into the section Support for FrameMaker 7.x character set and scroll to page
12.

If you need the diacritical marks themselves, e.g. ^ ~ ` you find most of them
in the same table.

If my answer is not sufficient, please describe in more detail, what you want
to achieve.

Still working out the oddities and kinks using FM 9's workspace and two questions

2010-01-01 Thread Spectrum Writing
In FM 7.2, I could minimize an entire book and when I did minimize it, it
went to the bottom of the onscreen display as expected. - In FM 9, when I
click that funky double arrow at the top of the book, yea, the book is
minimized, but it stays minimized right at the same location. I have to
physically drag the minimized book to the bottom of the screen. Is this the
expected behavior?

In FM 7.2, after I opened a book, and then a file in the book, the file
could be 'dragged on top of the open book window. I liked being able to do
this for a variety of reasons that aren't pertinent here. In FM 9, if I open
the book window, and then a file in the book, the book window stays on top
of the opened file window and obscures part of the file or another way of
putting it is that when I drag an opened file on top of the book window, it
goes behind the book window - I liked the real estate options in FM 7.2
where I could drag the file over part of the open book window and still see
the all of the files in my book. Is this also the expected behavior?

For either case, if yes, then a big BLECH! but, if there is some mystical
little setting, something that I have to specify in FM9.2 to change these
behaviors, I would love to learn about them. (I have searched the help, the
forums, and found nothing to assist me.)

TIA and Happy New Year.

Two questions

2006-03-22 Thread Tammy . VanBoening
1.) The URL to the Frameusers archives/search feature - I had this saved
as a favorite, but had a nuclear meltdown on my hard drive and an in the
frustrating process of rebuilding my working environment.

2.) I know this has been asked (by me) and answered (generously by quite a
few on the list before), but I have lost my notes on this. I am creating a
paragraph tag with a frame below property (a single line). I want this
single line (SingleLine) to be right-justified beneath the paragraph tag.
On the reference page, how do I set up my reference frame/what properties
do I modify so that this single line is indeed right-aligned? I faintly
remember it has something to do with the location of the reference frame
and the graphic inside of the frame, but. . . for the life of me, right
now, no matter what, the line is coming out left aligned beneath the
paragraph tag.
