My favorite website for finding that free wi-fi hotspot is: http://www.wififreespot.com It's been able to find some free hot spots other sites didn't list. . . None of the lists so far have listed a single community college that I know of that has wifi (at least 3 of the four within a 20 mile radius of me), nor most of the public libraries that I've used wifi at. I'd say a good rule of thumb while traveling is to call these places up and ask. Most colleges around here require you to have a college ID to use their system and you can not just use them for free. Almost all Libraries around here have free WIFI. Interesting. All I've done at the colleges I've used wifi at, is just walk in, plug into the wall, and start using the system. The only time I've been asked for an ID is if I wanted to check something out.
