Re: [VOTE] Apache Ambari 1.2.2-incubating RC1

2013-04-09 Thread Mahadev Konar
+1 on the release.

One minor nit:

target/ directory is included in the source with rat.txt file.

Not a blocker for the release. We should probably add it in our docs
to make sure we ignore that next time.

Sorry that was meant to be more of Apache releases on a regular
cadence rather than just saying no Apache Release. I am hoping to
start a discussion on the dev list for regular cadence on the
releases.

Mostly the patches are from folks employed by Hortonworks. We do have
PPMC members employed by IBM/EMC and others, though patches from non
hortonworks people are very few currently. We are hoping to fix that
with good documentation on Ambari project (for dev's and users) pretty
soon (within a couple of weeks) so that will encourage more people to
collaborate.
We also intend to start public meetups to build a stronger community
for Apache Ambari.

Hope that helps.

Re: Preparing for August report

2012-08-13 Thread Mahadev Konar
Jukka,
Apologize for the delay in sending the report. There was some
confusion on when the due date was (mostly my mistake). We will make
sure to send the board report by Sep 5th. We should be able to send
out a board report by tomorrow if thats ok, if not we will submit it
by September.

thanks
