So you want the text to appear in every frame of the animation, i.e.
every layer of the GIF image. I assume your frames are in replace mode.
Thus you need to copy the text on every frame. If the number of frames
is not very high, it is only a matter of a few click:

1 place the text layer at the bottom of the layer stack, just above the
  background;
2 duplicate the text layer;
3 merge the bottom layer of the pair just built with the underlying
  layer;
4 move up the remaining text layer by one layer;
5 go back to step 2 until you are at the top layer.

If there are a lot of frames in your animation, using the GAP plugin
would be better.

Not supported here. I suggest you try gimp.

But
for help w/gimpshop, try:  http://www.gimpshop.com/contact.shtml
  or:  http://www.gimpshop.com/forum

ps: If you expect help, it would behoove you to include some
information about your operating system, its version and the version
of the software you are trying to use and any other tidbits that you
believe might help identify your problems. Most of the existing
crystal balls quit working in 1980.

[Gimp-user] Animated and unanimated

2009-03-28 Thread Maureen
How do I put together a graphic that has part of it animated and part not? I
have started with an animated .GIF file, added a .JPEG file to it and then
saved it as an animated file. This makes the .JPEG file blink on and off
while the other animation is running. For instance, I have put text on top
of an animation, but I don't want the text to be animated. How do I do this?

Thanks.

2009-03-28 Thread Maureen
Gimpshop keeps crashing on me before I even get started. It gives me an
error message about not being able to set up a font and then terminates. I
have installed it again, but still no luck. How do I get around this so I
can use the product?

Thanks.

[Gimp-user] Font problems

2009-03-28 Thread Charlie
I hope I'm in the right place. I have been using GIMP 2.6.3 for a while and
love it. I have just run into a problem I cannot solve. I have acquired a
set of Symbom Fonts from Combi.

The set contains the following:
CNPRO___.ttf
CNPROBD_.ttf
COMSYM01.ttf
COMSYM02.ttf
COMSYM03.ttf
COMSYMCD.ttf
COMSYMDV.ttf
These fonts contain CD symbols and special characters. I have installed them
into Win XP Home Edition and they work great everywhere excepr GIMP.

CNPRO___.ttf and CNPROBD_.ttf display in the font selection and work fine.
The last five [COMSYM01.ttf, COMSYM02.ttf, COMSYM03.ttf, COMSYMCD.ttf, and
COMSYMDV.ttf] show in the font selection as the one title CombiSymbols and all
are the same font (COMSYM01.ttf).

Since the fonts carry their unique names internally, renaming the files will
not help.

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
