I'm guessing this doesn't happen anymore.

[Gluster-infra] Switching to Bugzilla for infra failures

2016-06-15 Thread Nigel Babu
Hello,

We've had a bugzilla component for a long time and it's been unused. With
effect from today, we've decided to resurrect it. Please file a bug in the
glusterfs -> Project-infrastructure component for infra issues.

We're doing this so that

* We can track bugs to their logical conclusion and things don't get missed in
  the noise.
* We can have a quick post-mortem in the bug about the issue.
* We can also get an idea of what sort of requests take up most of our time and
  how to reduce these issues.

File a bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/enter_bug.cgi?product=GlusterFS=project-infrastructure
List of open bugs:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/buglist.cgi?cmdtype=dorem_id=5294544=gluster-infra=run_id=396097

Thanks,

Hi Prashanth,

I'm in the middle of changing how new jobs are added to Jenkins. It'll be more
code and less clicking. This means soon you won't need access to Jenkins to
cretae a job. Do you have the bash scripts ready for your job? I've extracted
the bash scripts for most of our jobs in one place, so you can dump it in there
as soon as that pull request is merged in.

Does this sound like a good starting point?

[Gluster-infra] New servers in the RH DC

2016-06-15 Thread Michael Scherer
Hi,

so we finally got the 2 servers (128G of ram, around 36 cores, and
likely a ton of disk) in the DC.

I have added them to ansible:
https://github.com/gluster/gluster.org_ansible_configuration/commit/5de1a78d7fc8d67155793e944b1c398152165057#diff-85cf4e6d42a71e693fd780c8b29accdd

So far, we can't fully use them because I need to verify partionning,
and that requires access to the admin card to see how much disk are
there and stuff like this.

But that's being worked on.

[Gluster-infra] Access to Jenkins

2016-06-15 Thread Nigel Babu
Hello folks,

We have 45 people who have access to Jenkins UI. Pretty much everyone will be
losing this access in the next couple of weeks.

At the moment, I understand that access to the UI is essential for configuring
jobs. I’m going to change this in the near future. Jenkins Job Builder[1] will
talk to Jenkins to create/update jobs. Job information will be managed as a
collection of yaml files. If you want a new job, you can give us a pull request
with the correct format. The jobs will then be updated (probably via Jenkins).
You will then no longer need access to Jenkins to create or manage jobs. In
fact, editing the jobs in the UI will make the YAML files out of sync.

Before we start this process, I’d love to know if you use your Jenkins access.
If you do use it, please let me know off-list what you use it for.
