Call for finishing translations for new release of ekiga
Hi, 4.0.1 release of ekiga is due soon, perhaps on Wendnesday. The v4_0 branch, which is used for this release, has been and will be string freeze. http://l10n.gnome.org/module/ekiga/#v4_0 Best regards, -- Eugen http://eugen.dedu.free.fr ___ gnome-i18n mailing list gnome-i18n@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-i18n

Best regards, Hi, I'm afraid that, unfortunately, translators would be hammering their preferred input method translating GNOME 3.6 which is around the corner... Would make sense to release a 4.0.1 a week or so (with another, appreciated btw., notice like this one) after GNOME is out? That would give you quite a lot of translations more I would guess (at least the Catalan one for sure :) After discussion with Damien, we decided to delay by one week ekiga 4.0.0. This also allows us to fix the last remaining string issues this week :o) I will resend you a reminder e-mail in exactly one week, once gnome is out. So as promised here is the reminder to update ekiga translations. The initial plan was to release ekiga 4.0.0 in three days, on Monday, but very probably we will release a few days or one week later. It will be a very good release, probably the best one, so please update the translations on Monday evening UTC if you have the time. Strings are frozen from now until then. -- Eugen ___ gnome-i18n mailing list gnome-i18n@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-i18n

You will require an account if you want to be accessible to people on the Internet. Many web sites allow you to create an account. String freeze break for ekiga
Hi, I know I am late, but, given some feedbacks from users, I really think it is useful to introduce to ekiga users what you need to make ekiga working. The GNOME schedule can be found at http://live.gnome.org/TwoPointThirtyone/ . I still do not understand why this constrain. It seems to me that the natural solution is that 1-2 months before each release, the branch (or the HEAD if the branch does not exist) enters string freeze, and before that everything is allowed. Exactly. This gives translators 1-2 months to work on translations. But we are now four months away from the release and we cannot make string changes for this release... You did not branch Ekiga yet after GNOME 2.30 was released. And all the branches of those apps used for GNOME 2.30 are string frozen for all times and one day. So branch Ekiga for gnome-2-30, gnome-2-30 will be used for more stable releases of Ekiga in GNOME 2.30, and feel free to changes any strings in git master which will be branched to gnome-3-0 in a few months. Or so. To resume: if I make a branch called gnome-2-30 from current stable branch (gnome-2-26), it will automatically become current stable branch and will be string frozen forever, while master becomes ok for string changes until 1-2 months before gnome 3.0, cf. its roadmap. At http://live.gnome.org/TwoPointThirtyone I see that string freeze starts on July 12, isn't that right?! Yes, for the next cycle. But when a module is string freezed, it is forever! So the only way to 'defreeze' it is to create a branch so the freeze apply to the branch and no more to master. Is it possible to put gnome-2-26 branch in freeze, as it is the current stable branch, and let master as unstable (we hope to create unstable releases for it)? Yes, of course, if you confirm that the version released in GNOME 2.30 is from the 2.26 branch, it is even the right thing to do. We do not yet know which version will be released with gnome 2.30.
