Federico, is it intentional that this capplet uses display, screen, and
monitor terms?

Uh, not really. I already changed some of the terms per Vincent's
suggestion. Would you like to see some others changed?

("Detect Displays" could be "Detect Monitors"...)

Monitor i definitely better than display of monitor is what it means,
because display is very ambiguous in computer english.

I agree. If you are not using screen/display/monitor following the
meaning used in xorg.conf, could be really good always (controls, window
title, .desktop launcher) use "monitor". But "display" could be good to,
at least it matches the binary name "gnome-display-properties"

Moreover IMHO the following labels could be a little hard to understand
or translate in the best form:

Include _panel
_Mirror monitors
On/Off --> accelerators, however this could be a single checkbox

Also note that launcher name is "Screen Resolution" but window title is
"Display Settings". Following other capplets those should are

launcher name: Monitors|Displays
window title: Monitors|Displays Preferences

Should I've to file a bug?
