Can anyone point me in the right direction please? kind regards, It looks like you have a missmatch of the package versions you are using... The base library seems to be an old version and it's complaining about configuration variables added by a later version of the make package (make 2). For make version 2 I think you need base version 1.14 or later (and also fairly up to date versions of any other packages). While I recommend using make version 2.x, you need to be aware that the change of the major version number from 1 to 2 introduced a few incompatibilities as well as a lot of improvements, so you need to get recent versions of other packages as older versions may not have been updated for make 2.x Versions of the core packages released in April 2007 or later should be fine. ___ Gnustep-dev mailing list Gnustep-dev@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/gnustep-dev

GNUstep base and GNU TLS
Looks like GNUstep base now requires gnutls by default. I was used to get a message that I wont be able to use SSL. That way a bit annoying, as I really didn't want to use it, but that was all. It still let me compile GNUstep base without any special options. But TLS now seems to be even more important, it stops you from compiling. I am willing to install the dev package for this software, but we should be aware that any dependency that forces a user to either install new software or use a configure switch will stop some users from compiling and using GNUstep. Couldn't configure just fall back to a build without TLS? Cheers, Fred ___ Gnustep-dev mailing list Gnustep-dev@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/gnustep-dev
