Welcome to the list. I also am a hacker physician.

The thing about vista is that it takes a while to
learn. I have been working about 6-9 months now, and
am finally feeling comfortable.
I, and others, are trying to make the installation
process less painful. Until then, we'll try to help
you all we can.
Would you be interested in coming to the VistA conf.
in Boston? There will be more people there who could
help you get going.

I try to install SemiViva .4 and get all the way to

wonderful!
Except, I don't have any real instructions on where
to go from there.
So... I use the only instructions I can find... the
pacifichui
instructions which I know aren't totally
applicable/inapplicable.
Can someone please help me go from the GTM prompt...
to something
usefull.
Please... forgive the newbie question. I really
have looked everywhere
I could (I am sure I am missing something completely
obvious) I feel
my head spinning like a top.
