for me it seems that the necessary ports are blocked by a hardware/software

well the thing is evry time i putt up my dedicated server i mark it so it
will be VAC secured.
Then when i go into CS to find my server from server list it shows me that
it's not VAC secured.
Then some one sayd that you must do Hlupdate..
i down loaded it and tryd to read the read me file but they sayd you need to
do somthing with some special map that i dident gett and the ifo.text file
was only explaned for cs source
And when i open the dedicated server and klick on console there then it says
like this

couldn't exec listip.cfg
couldn't exec banned.cfg
Adding master server 72.165.61.190:27010
Adding master server 68.142.72.250:27010
Could not establish connection to Steam servers.

i houp i made my self more clear :P

AW: [hlds] Source Dedicated Server Beta Update

2007-05-15 Thread Matthias Wieloch
>From my little knowledge:
The "wait" command is usually used in buyscripts. But unfortunately you can
also find it in cheat scripts.

For the colorcorrection: I could imagine this being used for wallhacks.

So from my point it's a good way to reduce cheating on a server.

Btw: can is someone still working on hlds or is this project frozen?

AW: [hlds] [Fwd: [Fwd: NO GAS ON 15TH]]

2007-05-08 Thread Matthias Wieloch
I didn't intend to but I add something to that.
I'm from Germany and actually we pay about 1.36€ per litre.
Converted to $/gallon it is about 5.16$ per gallon.
And I don't enjoy paying that.

Actually it's called maximizing value received for value extended but if you
enjoy paying more for something than it's worth, you are free (I assume) to do
so. And please stop spamming the board. :)~

I completely fail to see what this has to do with either hlds or source.
Please stop spamming the list.

Also, I am looking forward to the day American gas prices hit a level
comparable to the rest of the world. Bitching about three bucks per
gallon just makes the ludicrously wealthy nation and its citizens look
piss poor. And cheap. And utterly incapable of buying proper cars that
don't use the three gallons on a single mile.

Cheers,
Einar

[hlds] DoDS cpu and SMP time-line

2007-04-15 Thread Matthias Wieloch
This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

[ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ]
I have a question to a similar problem.

I'm running 3 hlds (old half-life engine) with counter-strike mod on a
single machine. But if I update each server to the most recent version 1 CPU
(out of 4) gets full load, the rest nothing.

The only workaround I have is to copy some older dlls into the directories.
The dlls mainly belong to the steam part. Will there be an update to that
problem in some time?

Regards

Matthias
