Re: [hlds] Re: HLDS performance issues
I've been running the latest update on HLDM with no observed spike problems, but I have been seeing an occasional disconnect with the "Cient timed out while answering challenge" problem. I was running a playtest on my new Army2 map on Sunday and everyone got disconnected roundrobin, even my LAN client, but then it eventually settled down and ran perfect for 12 hours. Since I run the Server VGUI, I see the server performance graphically and things like spikes and unusual CPU usage are very apparent if they do happen. The HLDM server only runs metamod v1.17 2003/11/15 and botsman's stripper2 (a very fine plugin btw) on an AMD XP 2600+, 512MB running XP Pro. The server runs at sv_ticrate 1000 and fps_max 1000 (actual Server fps is typically 512). ] version Protocol version 47 Exe version 1.1.2.0 (valve) Exe build: 21:57:36 Feb 8 2006 (3382) Checking bootstrapper version ...
