Re: [hlds_linux] Updating a server using FTP

2009-09-04 Thread Romain Pierre
Hi,

Can can also download the files on your local host (use VirtualBox to have
linux if needed) and upload all the files at same place on your server AND,
in filezilla (or other) check when asked : overwrite only if size differ
from remote (or same).

So only updated files will be uploaded. Be careful with your server.cfg,
motd.txt etc...

Re: [hlds_linux] hldsupdatetool : slow when disable PasswordAuthentication in ssh config

2009-09-04 Thread Romain Pierre
Hi,

Maybe the file key use a more stronger crypt algorithm and the text output
(the file listing when updating) take more time to crypt and decrypt data
from remote computer to local putty?
Please, can you try the same thing with a tar command? (in order to have the
same file listing, but no network transfer for file downloading).

You can't use address translation?
I don't know very well IPv6 but I think you can use IPv4 locally and IPv6 on
the cloud.
You can watch in this way.
