[hlds_linux] New Medal of Honor

2010-08-12 Thread SCHLUP
I know this isn't the right mailing list but I was wondering if anybody
knows where I can find a mailing list for the new Medal of Honor that is
coming out in October. Also, does anybody know if it will support dedicated
Linux servers on launch and/or where I could find more info on that?

Thanks!

This works for me.

./srcds_run -game cstrike_beta +map de_dust2 +maxplayers 20 +ip
xx.xx.xxx.xxx +port 27015 -tickrate 100 +exec server.cfg

but while looking threw the install theres folders everywhere, so i'm having
a hard time trying to figure out where the cfg folder should be for the
server.cfg

How does 1 get the client files for the beta ?

Do we have to stand up a new server for this or can we simply change the
command line on our existing css server to update to the beta?

COUNTER-STRIKE: SOURCE UPDATE NOW IN BETA

Available immediately, Valve has launched an extensive update to
Counter-Strike: Source, now in beta.

The update includes a host of new features and functionality developed in
collaboration with Hidden Path Studios. These include 144 new achievements, a
new domination and revenge system, player stats, and more.

This beta will run for a limited time, and once complete, the update will be
deployed to all Counter-Strike: Source owners for free via Steam.

The dedicated server files are available via the HLDSUpdateTool using "-game
cssbeta" in the command line.

To days ago i wrote a mail on this list:

Same for DoD:S. If you enter only "setmaster" in the console you will
see that NONE is set by defeault. I did as valve recomends if you do it
against their advice not to manually add the server. Still no success.
Later I saw one of the servers on the list and checked. The ports for
the masters where diferent but the IPs the same. Currently I have this
in my server.cfgs and all of them are listed:

setmaster add 216.207.205.99:27011
setmaster add 216.207.205.98:27011
setmaster add hl2master.steampowered.com
setmaster enable 216.207.205.99:27011
setmaster enable 216.207.205.98:27011
setmaster enable hl2master.steampowered.com
heartbeat

Please note that valve reccomends against this method. but at least it
is working (for now)

Hello there,

we got a problem with our TF2 Funbot server (193.192.59.181:27030). We
have some standard maps and some custom ones (including all the
NAV-files). At map start we place 12 bots on it. The server is up to date.

Sometimes a bot commits suicide in koth_nucleus (falling down). This
immediately crashes the server. Nearly every hour.

We've disabled ALL addons with no result. Its crashing always with some
lines like this:

L 02/17/2010 - 21:38:11: "ThatGuy<3>" triggered "medic_death"
against "ThatGuy<3>" (healing "907") (ubercharge "0")
L 02/17/2010 - 21:38:11: "ThatGuy<3>" committed suicide with
"world" (attacker_position "-2475 2 104")

I'm lucky to have it go 30-60 minutes without crashing and rebooting when
players are present on the server.

Yeah this is still going on. Anyone else have it happen frequently?

Re: [hlds_linux] Team Fortress 2 | Random server crashes

2010-02-14 Thread Schlup
Yes, I'm having the issue as well. I run 6 bots on the server full time
though and I kinda figured that was the issue but it may not be. The server
restart is very random though and only happens when users on the on the
server playing.

Subject: [hlds_linux] Team Fortress 2 | Random server crashes

For the past week or so one of our 32 player servers has randomly dropped
all connections. During the outage, the server console locks up. We run
the server in screen, but I do not believe this to be the issue.

Is anyone else having trouble with their server randomly locking up?

What is even weirder is the server restarts itself. Its like it just
magically resumes operation.

One thing I thought it could be is DNS resolvers because this has happened
in the past where the host was reloading bind to add zones and the server
locks up. I checked my resolv.conf and I am using google's opendns
resolvers as well as bind on the local box. In case bind is the issue on
the local box I removed it from resolv.conf.

Just want to know if anyone else is having this issue.

Re: [hlds_linux] TeamSpeak 3 Server

To be fair you guys that are Mumble fanboys haven't even used TeamSpeak 3, it
just got released a few hours ago. So you can't intelligently talk about
quality of voice of one over the other before you use them both. If you want
to learn about some of the new features and advancements of TS3 you can go here
and read down in the center of the page. http://www.teamspeak3.biz/

P.S. I have resolved my issue and all is up and working now. Thanks to all
those that helped and I'm sorry to all those that got their panties in a wad
because this wasn't HLDS related.

I have to agree with Zuko mumble is way superior to TS (even to the ingame
com system) last time in L4D the voice was coming in mumble before the
ingame stream. And 1.2 release is an excellent work regarding the quality of
the voice reproduction.

Re: [hlds_linux] TeamSpeak 3 Server

2009-12-19 Thread Schlup
Sorry guys, the TeamSpeak website is down because of all the traffic they
are getting and they have no mailing list. We all know that most of us run
a VoIP software in addition to our HLDS stuff. Thought somebody would have
some info, I understand that this list isn't specifically for it, just
looking for a little help. If you can't help or don't have suggestions than
just don't reply.

Thanks,

No offense but that is the wrong list to send this message to. Most
people who register here expect HLDS Linux topics. I would suggest
checking on the TS Forums or mailing list(If they have one?). I would
even suggest your local LUG(Linux User Group) if there is one in your
area.

Good luck!

[hlds_linux] TeamSpeak 3 Server

2009-12-19 Thread Schlup
Has anybody successfully setup a TeamSpeak 3 server on Linux yet? I'm
having troubles getting the binary to run. I am trying to setup a TS3
server on my dedi box. I have downloaded, unzipped, set permissions, etc.
But when I go to install and execute the binary file I get the following
error.

Command '"./ts3server_linux_amd64"'
failed with return code 126 and error message
-bash: line 12: ./ts3server_linux_amd64: cannot execute binary file.

Please advise on how to resolve this issue if anybody has any ideas.

Thanks!

Schlup

[hlds_linux] Left 4 Dead 2 Linux Dedicated

2009-11-21 Thread Schlup
Hello all, I'm running a dedicated server with CentOS and trying to get Left
4 Dead2 started. I have just about everything configured already. Just
need scripts for start.sh, restart.sh, stop.sh

I'll be running the scripts from Webmin which is how I control all of my
game servers. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Schlup
