I could scan the Parable if you still need it.

Hi all,

Just wanted to clarify the passage in question. I have the music in
front of me, and this is the so-called "vodeling" solo - a waltz with
some unusual 16th note skips. I can't say where one could obtain the
part (it's not in the Thompson edition binder) but it does come up from
time to time on orchestra auditions and is well worth a look.

You can call the Tanglewood office and ask for copies to be sent to you.

RE: [Hornlist] Help with finding music

2004-01-25 Thread Hans Pizka
What Berlioz whole 1st horn part ? What piece ??

The Fairy´s Kiss by Stravinsky is nothing technical with this solo. It
is slow but just very delicate. It starts with b-nat.2 (dotted
1/4)(top) - e2 (1/8), again dotted 1/4 b-nat.2 - 1/4-e2, 1/2 b-nat.2,
all 1/4 a2-g2- f#2 - e2-d2 (1/2), 1/2 a2-all 1/4 c#2-g2-c#2-g2-c#2-
dotted 1/4 f#2-b-nat1 (178), 1/4 b-nat.1. This is in soft piano
dynamics & lonesome open.

Asking for this solo for an audition is rather perverse.

Persichetti´s Parable, yes, I played it but too many years ago to
remember one single note, sorry.

Hope at least, that the few notes about Stravinsky will help. Just
written from memory, 6:20 in the morning.
