The current driver is 195 series and not the one that you activated. Go to
system- administration-hardware driver and pick the latest.

i have installed ubuntu 10.04 also I tried to install nvidia
driver(tried-nvidia current,173,...)but after installation ubuntu booting
only in low graphics mode only. nvidia driver is activated,but when running
the nvidia-settings it says "You do not appear to using the NVIDIA X driver.
Please edit your X configuration file (just run 'nvidia-xconfig' as root),
and restart the X server."
