Is it for commercial or for Non-Profit?

/** It is very much opened for student community, to make themselves a

Some of the students i know dont have knowledge on PHP or MySQL.. But they
want to learn some thing.. Can i refer them..

Basically, i feel this is a fantastic idea.. If we could conceptualise some
theme, and start working on it, we can establish our own FOSS software.

apart from that, we can also direct students to contribute to NGO's to
manage their tasks. I did a small project for an NGO called chirag, within
my organisation, so that they could organize gift collection easily through
online. Now they are requesting me to help them to enable this feature in
their website.
[[ I would be glad to explain more on this, for implementation in other
corporates too.. ]]

If any of the students are interested, i would be able to guide them to help
this NGO. Technical requirements are: PHP, MySQL, and knowledge on AJAX.

If we could match the requirements and the volunteers, a lot of benefits
will happen to both the contributors and the NGO's.

All our applications could be released with the open source license.
Absolutely free for the public to make use of it. One of our main objective
is to make FOSS to reach common men, make him realize how FOSS could help
for his better living.

Yes you are correct, open web group is an opportunity to make your dreams
come true. We welcome your ideas and
concepts, it need not to be something out of box. It could be your own
issues what you, yourself face in day to day life. All we need is it should
help yourself as we as society

Is there any website or colloboration tool for open web group? Sure.. i
have a couple of such issues that i am facing currently.. one is
implementing SSO in Windows Network for websites hosted in linux..
currently i am trying out mod_auth_kerb module for this. Yet to get the
result..

Btw, we need to generate the resource pool for this.. I hope we could find
it from this ILUG Community itself..

Another issue that i came across was in writing out documentation.. When i
explained about the importance of documentation to my relative students, the
first thing they told was "I am not well in english".. I told them,
documentation is only for recording what we know.. you can very well write
in tamil itself.. if needed, later on we can translate in to english..

This is new experience to me, and i wish, we can try developing a small
application by documenting in tamil, (like requirement listing, design
etc)..

these are serious apps. IMO, you would need people who are experts in
these fields (not necessarily software guys). do you have such people
lined up to mentor development of such apps?

He mentioned that he was kidding and that it was not his area!!!

Anyway... I am interested in this and I am quite ok at rails. As in, I have
no practical experience, still a student, but I have been using ruby for
over two years and I am almost through a book called Beginning Rails: From
Novice to Professionals.

Alright :) So I assume you'd also like to explore the Catalyst

A framework is essential I agree. But it will be better if we actually
decide a project. A framework is like the silhouette.. The project breathes
life into it!
