[IRCA] WMNY
--- Begin Message --- Hi All: Just a note from recent travel. WMNY, 1150, New Kensington, PA, is, contra Barry's list, on. Noted yesterday w/Black Gospel mx while passing through Pittsburgh. At 1750 was playing a gospel countdown show. However, WGBN, 1360, McKeesport, was not heard so apparently is still off. Also no sign of WAVL, 910, Apollo so I wonder if they aren't off again. Nothing else of note, but I was wondering about one of my few unheard (here) Ohioans. Is WJMP, 1520, Kent, off and gone. I used to hear them regularly at s/off in Port Huron but they are so directional I knew I'd never hear them here. So if they're gone, I can stop trying. If they're gone, that would leave me with 4 unheard Ohios, 1000 in Parma the 1350 in Celina, 1380 in Lorain and the 1460 now in Cleveland. It would also mean that, since I logged the old 1080 in Sydney just after we moved here, as well as WPAY, 1400, WFRO, 900, the 900 Canton, the 1040 in North Ridgefield and the 1500 Youngstown, I have now heard more Ohioans than are currently operating. 73David --- End Message --- ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Be sure to register now for the Joint DX Convention Kansas City, September 9 to 11. Re: [IRCA] WMNY
--- Begin Message --- Yep, WJMP-1520 Kent was deleted August 1 per the licensee's request. Kent is only 23 miles north of Canton, home of WINW on the same frequency, so even before there were day pattern books, I knew that I could forget about hearing WJMP down here. WINW, as you might guess, was heard often. Hi Stan, it is good that your QTH is quiet enough for LW. Here's a link to what likely still is on LW from Europe. http://emwg.info/ I'd expect your 153 to be Algeria. Look for them also on 252 with Ireland. I don't DX LW so my appologies if the Algerians are no longer.
