Re: [IRCA] Savage Nation (was 1650 fun)

2007-02-28 Thread Milspec390
Savage no 'psycho' - entirely different & unpleasant critter. He seems
amiably psychotic at times & for good reason, considering he observes what we
laughingly call 'civilization'.

As w/Gil, I like him, always have. Do his screams seem those of a broken
hearted optimist? He desperately wants all to be right - as w/his fantasies re
Life in the Fifties.

Of course, all is not right.

Nor were things right during the Fifties. Most eyes were misdirected at
Elvis' pelvis & away from the Termites. Elvis became corpulent. He croaked.
Termites bored in. They're winning.

S. decries media-obsession with 'starlets throwing up on themselves' - lotta
execs pay dearly to see that & would gladly date said starlets - as
distraction from real issues. Yet he doesn't realize 50's were same. Elvis vs.
Mao,
Chuck Berry vs. Chuck Starkweather, dare we mention legendary Ral Donner vs.
Patrice Lumumba? Pop culture ever a fine diversion from subversion.

Could this be why Franz Lizst exclaimed in despondence: "The people love
trash!"?

Dr. Young - whattabout Zyprexa? Anti-psychotic, it paralyzes physically but
leaves mind whirling & packs on 10#/wk. Given Savage's thing for food, might
that blow his mind?

Also, didn't credit Otto & Dr. J. F. Parnell chat to 'repo man', c. 1984,
Alex Cox.

We'll fix Dr. S. He might be good for TV. Mood swings make for compelling
entertainment. Think: James Woods' character, Ned Trent, in 'The Specialist'.

Dr. Z.

"If this corner blows up why this whole building might blow up.
And if this building blows up, why, the whole neighborhood will
blow up. You think I care? I don't!"

I think Savage's persistant psychotic state calls for drastic measures:
straight jackets, perhaps even insulin shock an oldie but goody, or maybe
even cold water immersion, but in truth I think Dr Z has the best solution:

Whattabout Scopolamine? Used on pregnant hysterics back inna bad old days of

Your thoughts?

For your consideration: Shock treatments are not the dread Rx of old. ECT

Re: [IRCA] Savage Nation (was 1650 fun)

2007-02-28 Thread Milspec390
Any station who wished to be onna map missed their chance when they didn't
hire me. My strategy? Simple: divide audience into two groups, those who
believe
you walk on water and those who wish to hold your head firmly beneath it for
oh, twenty minutes, to finish the job.

Savage's palpable ambivalence is irksome. Here again, Grant's dramatic
talents worked perfectly, one moment shrilly denouncing a disputant as a
''small
putrid insect whose life was empty and meaningless', the next, quietly
consoling
a caller troubled.

I like Savage's screaming. It's refreshing, forthright, in a world in which
candor is eschewed in favor of posteriorly shivving one's neighbor for
imaginary slights.

Unfortunately, in recent years, most callers liked me and called to say as
much. N.B.: Psycho callers are an integral part of every talk show,
indispensable spice.

Some chronic would eventually call, allowing display of my Hellyweird-trained
emotional 'range' - so to speak. Some callers expect to be abused. A good
host is ever deferential.

As different from the most real albeit amped-up screaming of talk legend Bob
Grant, are you of the impression Dr. Savage's bellering is an outward
