  Has anyone succeed in parsing an HTML file to PDF File? I have tried
to use Tiny HTML (JTidy) but it doesnt work. It produces the right (X)Html
but the IText returns me an error:

  ExceptionConverter: org.xml.sax.SAXException: String index out of

  This error occurs in the following HTML code and seens to be on the
second line, because if I delete this line (http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd>>), JBuilder will
return another error:

Shankar,

draw
a solid black rectangle with the same dimensions as your text box. It needs to
be behind the text-box and shifted by 5 (or so) pixels to the right and
down.

[iText-questions] SVGs in PDf Files

2002-04-22 Thread Joachim F. Petzold

Hi all,

what is the easiest (and or best) way to add an existing SVG graphic to a
PDF document created with iText?
If the answer is complex, just a pointer in the right direction will do.

Thanks in advance,
Joachim

Jeff,

the latest versions of iText support colspan (but not rowspan) in
PdfPTables.

  Subject: [iText-questions] Table with Fixed Row Heights

  I have been trying to use iText to produce a batch of pdf documents, and
although it looks promising I am encountering a problem with row heights.
Fixed row heights are not supported within Table. They are supported by
PdfTable & PdfPTable, however column and row spans are not supported here.
(Nested Tables will not work for my spanning requirements). As the Table
class comes very close to fulfilling my requirements, I wonder if you could
lead me to an area where I might be able to wrap some logic to allow for
fixed row heights.

  Thanks

RE: [iText-questions] linebreaks in tablecells

2002-03-27 Thread Joachim F. Petzold

PdfPCell.setNoWrap(boolean)  works for PDF generation.
If set to "true" it suppresses wrapping, even if as a result
the cell content collides with the adjacent cell or flows
beyond the table's left margin.

I am not sure about Cell.setNoWrap() since I mostly work with
PdfPTables.

RE: [iText-questions] linebreaks in tablecells

2002-03-27 Thread Joachim F. Petzold

Gerd,

note sure if the following will solve your problem:
if you enter all line breaks manually,
you should set Cell.setNoWrap(true), so that
line-breaks inserted by the automatic wrapping
don't interfere with your manual line breaks.

Joachim Petzold

Hi, how do you create a bullet point? MS Word lets you create a bullet point
to easily show your points in a list. Can iText do this or is there
something similar?

Thanks Ron

RE: [iText-questions] adding a Table to a Cell ignores colspan

2002-03-20 Thread Joachim F. Petzold

John,

I don't have trouble using colspan with nested tables.

This is the code I am using:

PdfPTable oTable = new PdfPTable(4);
PdfPTable oNestedTable = new PdfPTable(8);
...
...
...
PdfPCell oCell = new PdfPCell(oNestedTable);
oCell.setCospan(3);
oTable.addCell(oCell);

Everything works as expected.

Joachim Petzold

Just found the solution...
it's apparently caused by a bug in Acrobat 5.0x (prior to .05).
Upgrading to 5.05 solved the issue.
