Re: [JAWS-Users] Protected PDF Documents Jaws
I use the following steps to remove the document from Protection mode: 1. press ALT Key once. This will enable the ribbon / menu bar 2. press Control TAB and this will move the PC cursor to the information bar that announces File Protection information. Use the Right Arrow once and you will hit the ENABLE EDITING Button. Hit the space bar once and your document is now off Protection mode. hTH. Cheers! I route JAWS to PC cursor and arrow to where it says enable editing, and the route PC to JAWS and then switch to VC. There may be an easier way but this works for me. During this past week I have had difficulty with two different .pdf documents, both protected. I cannot say more about the protection, JAWS says protected document, and I am able to read it for a while. Then my computer slows down drastically, JAWS loses focus, and I cannot use my computer until I give it a hard reset or a sighted person closes the .pdf document. Has anyone had this experience or know of a way to get around it. Also, this last document has links to other documents which I need to access, but they don't show up as links. When I enter on their names nothing happens. This may be a separate issue, but also important to me, as I need to read this documentation for work. BTW, I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. I am investigating having Acrobat Reader installed to see if this might help. I would appreciate any ideas from this list. Thank you. [JAWS-Users] new mobile App - Be My Eyes.
A new mobile app was released recently that I thought some of you may be interested in. The app connects blind people with volunteer helpers from around the world via live video chat. A blind person requests assistance in the Be My Eyes app. The challenge that he/she needs help with can be anything from knowing the expiry date on the milk to navigating new surroundings. The volunteer helper receives a notification for help and a live video connection is established. From the live video the volunteer can help the blind person by answering the question they need answered. There is a rating and reporting system to help minimalize misuse. Their website can be found here: http://www.bemyeyes.org/ Right now it is only available on IOS / Apple. You can register to be notified of an Android release here: http://bemyeyes.us6.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=e7bc4d93c409f117307da5764 http://bemyeyes.us6.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=e7bc4d93c409f117307da5764i d=6715c5a0ea id=6715c5a0ea If anyone chooses to give this a try, please provide feedback to the group on your thoughts. As this is a new concept and app, I am sure there will be problems with it, but will get better as time goes on and the volunteer network grows stronger. Cheers! So I followed directions and selected the sound to replace the word link. It worked for a time. I got a sound when on a link. But now, for some reason, I now get the sound and the word, link, together. The only thing that I have changed is to use flexible web to skip advertisements and graphics. Do you think that that could have done it? Help! How can I fix this problem. LeDon. Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2010 Question
Tom: Outlook allows saving of email messages in one of the following folders within the OUTLOOK DataFile: 1. InBox; 2. Sent; 3. Drafts; and 4. Outbox. If you have additional mailboxes configured, these folders cannot be assigned as default folder where you can direct the Saved messages. HTH. Cheers! What if you put some unique characters in the subject line of a test email, like XX - whatever is unique. Then do your usual ctrl S or your preferred save to draft method. Then do a search using the alt key to bring up the Windows 7 Search box, then enter the unique subject line test message string. Perhaps the search will disclose the location of your saved messages and solve the mystery of the missing (or AWOL) draft folder. Good luck! I could not find it in either my local or g-mail draft, junk, saved, or spam folders. I simply can't imagine where these messages are going, especially since I told Outlook to save them in the drafts folder. On your second note, I, like you, find it easier to find relevant folders in Outlook by simply shift-tabbing to my folder list and accessing my desired folder either via the arrow keys or by first-letter navigation. Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2010 Question
Tom: As Outlook by default saves all messages in one of its outlook data file, the only way forward I could see is to create a JAWS script with hot key one for saving in your gmail drafts folder and one for saving in your work's draft folder. So if you do a control Y and then a left arrow you can then get to a list that you can select which account you are in. when you do this and do a test email to yourself and before you send it hit escape it should automatically go to draft or you will be asked if you want to save it. If you say yes then do another control Y and go to draft folder to see if it is there. Do this for all of your accounts and if the emails are not saved in your draft folder then something has been clobared (love that term). Of interest if you have multiple account email accounts you have to be careful in the lists to ensure you are in the right one for that account. I find the lists are not very well defined once you have more then one email account that you traverse back and forth from. robin -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Tom Behler Sent: December 30, 2014 8:50 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2010 Question Gobi: I'm not sure my previous experience with Outlook 2010 agrees with what you are saying here, since I used to be able to save messages in the drafts folder of whatever e-mail account I happened to be in at any one point in time. [JAWS-Users] JAWS and SharePoint Designer 2010.
Hello to All, This is my first posting to the group after I joined earlier this morning! Got a question. Does JAWS V14.x or above work with SharePoint Designer 2010? If not, has anyone developed Scripts for the same? I tried using Jaws v14.x as well as v16.x with SharePoint Designer 2010 and Jaws is unable to even recognize the ribbon and icons within. Greatly appreciate some guidance. Cheers! Gopi Bala. For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
