Re: [JAWS-Users] Question about Vocalizer voices
You need to do a cntrol shift d before you modify the sound scheme. This wil put you in the default settings which covers most programs. Re: [JAWS-Users] Regarding vocalizer voices
You can modify the sound scheme to play a .wav file for capital letters. I use click4. This is the second option on the miscellaneous tab when you are editing the sound scheme. You will need to change this in the default settings ( control shift D). For this to take affect in Microsoft Word you will need to open settings while running Word and change it there also. Re: [JAWS-Users] Microsoft Windows 8 And JAWS
It really works well with a screen reader. Pressing the windows key will bring up the start screen, if you start typing you are placed in a search box for apps / programs. Windows plus W puts you in a search box for settings. Windows plus F puts you in a search box for files. Windows plus I gives you the settings by category and windows plus X gives you additional settings. Windows plus C brings up the charm bar which I do not use at all. Re: [JAWS-Users] SAPI 5 voices for Jaws etc. on a 64 bit computer
www.ivona.com The price is in euros. It depends on wether you get a single machine key or a three machine key. They also have more US english voices. I think you can buy a five voice package but it's kind of expensive. I think I paid a little over $100 for two voices on three machines. The voices are extremely high quality. [JAWS-Users] Windows 8 / JAWS 14 Installation Problem
Hey Everyone, I have a new ultrabook running Windows 8. I am connecting to the internet with Verizon using a USB modem. I am browsing using Internet Explorer 10 and Firefox 16. I am getting my email using Thunderbird. I am running NVDA which can check for and install updates without any problem. I downloaded JAWS 14 64 bit using another machine and installed it on my Windows 8 machine. It said there was a problem with the internet connection and some components were not installed. I have removed and reinstalled JAWS several times with the same error. The internet connection is fine. When I try to update authorization it says there is a problem with the internet connection. If I do a check for updates on the help menu it says there is a problem with the internet connection. The internet connection is working with no problems. Only JAWS can't find it. I don't think it's trying to use the connection because it comes back instantly and says there is a problem with the connection. I have successfully installed JAWS 14 on a Windows 7 laptop using the USB modem and the Verizon software. (VZAccess Manager.) Not sure what to check or why JAWS doesn't recognize the connection. Any suggestions? Thanks! -- Tim Bennett Indianapolis, IN For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
