2011-08-05 Thread Mike & Barbara In Arcadia
Hi Stewart,

Personally I have no idea why Jaws is saying desktop twice. On my computers
Jaws says desktop only 1 time but, as far as not going directly to the
desktop when starting, that happens to me all the time. It will go directly
to the desktop then, it starts landing on the start button or the clock.
When it does this, I tab 1 time & Alt + tab 1 time & that puts me on the
desktop. 1 other thing to try is press the windows key + D, & see if that
will put you on the desktop. I know this doesn't explain why your computer
is doing what it is doing, but I'm just letting you know that you are not

Re: [JAWS-Users] re desktop problems

2011-08-05 Thread Estelita

Hi,
I have similar problem with my Dell laptop using XP OS, that whenever I get
out from any application, JAWS says, "no window is active, press windows key
M to go to the desktop."
It didn't say "desktop" at start up either, the little tune only notifies me
that it's on.

I wonder if there's a way to fix this?
Thank you in advance for any info.

2011-08-05 Thread Don Marang
From my experience with JAWS Scripting, it is my educated guess that
there is something that temporarily takes the focus off of the Desktop,
then returned to the Desktop. For instance, if you notice this on
Startup, it may be background programs temporarily grabbing focus to the
Notification Area as they start.

Hi,
I have similar problem with my Dell laptop using XP OS, that whenever I
get out from any application, JAWS says, "no window is active, press
windows key M to go to the desktop."
It didn't say "desktop" at start up either, the little tune only notifies
me that it's on.

I wonder if there's a way to fix this?
Thank you in advance for any info.

Hi Stewart,

Personally I have no idea why Jaws is saying desktop twice. On my
computers

Jaws says desktop only 1 time but, as far as not going directly to the
desktop when starting, that happens to me all the time. It will go
directly

to the desktop then, it starts landing on the start button or the clock.
When it does this, I tab 1 time & Alt + tab 1 time & that puts me on the
desktop. 1 other thing to try is press the windows key + D, & see if
that
will put you on the desktop. I know this doesn't explain why your
computer

is doing what it is doing, but I'm just letting you know that you are not
the only one that has this unexplainable crap happen to them! I guess
Doctor Phil ain't such a bad idea afterall!LOL LOL

Take care.
